I applied back on January 9th and my application has been complete since then.The date however just changed from 1/9 to 3/9. Does that mean anything? It still says complete but the note about waiting 3 months disappeared. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I have been complete since early January as well. Probably not looking good for me. It sure looks like I will be in Baton Rouge for 3 more years.

I am starting to get pretty POed over FSU and their schollys. I would like to know whether there is a chance or not. Waiting for the "You might get a merit application" is killing me. Other schools just send an award in the mail like a week after acceptance. Time is ticking I hope they make a move on these schollys


Any advice or knowledge from TLSers on FSU scholly potential. I am a URM 164 with a 3.2. Also any info on if they negotiate?

Almost exact same numbers. Slightly higher GPA. How do you feel about your chances? For reasons both academic and personal FSU has emerged as my bar-none top choice.

You are in pretty good shape IMHO. I bombed the LSAT (relatively speaking) in June and got one point higher than you on the October test, and I have the same GPA as you and got in shortly after being "under review."

Rocky, I am a 3.52/164. I was admitted in November but didn't get the merit scholarship form until February. I finished it prior to March 1, which the form said we should do if we wanted priority consideration and to be notified by March 15. The people I've talked to who did the same thing have yet to hear back, either. Maybe they'll wait until tomorrow and send them out at once. I don't know. I've spoken with some professors who said it probably wouldn't hurt to make them aware of your other offers if you get the shaft. I have a 25k scholarship from Washington and Lee, but I'm not going to bring that up unless they stay silent through tomorrow. I also don't know if that will even make a difference, but we will see.

I'll post what happens here since we have the same LSAT and I might be useful for you as a reference point. So...maybe we can just be depressed together or something.

Also, Jaysgirl, I will be at the Washington and Lee Open House this weekend. I have a 2L friend of the family who will be there for the coffee thing and the dinner. I'm bringing Pops as well because we have March Madness bets and he lives in WV.

I will be the guy in some variation of a long, plaid shirt and jeans. I'm bringing it back.

My understanding is that if we received an application, we'd been essentially guaranteed some form of merit aid -- is that correct?

I am not sure. You would think that if you have to go through a selection process to even be e-mailed the merit-based form that you'd get something, but I don't know for sure either way.

If someone in the know has told you that the form guarantees at least some aid and the question is only the amount then you know more than me. I just talked to a few people at the late February ASD who also recently received the form, had offers from other schools, and were waiting on the March 15 deadline.

I haven't tried to communicate with anyone actually affiliated with the school before the deadline -- not ballsy enough for that until I can ask them whether I should interpret silence on their end after March 15 as a "no go."

Also, as a follow-up to my last question, does anyone how hard it is to get residency in Florida after a year? I know some states make it fairly easy, and some make it near impossible while in college, so just wondering if anyone has insight about Florida.

Yeah, I went under review yesterday I think, and they called me today, my status indicator still says in review.
