Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear back
I was the same way. I can't believe that I was already accepted with a sweet scholly offer from UA and still haven't heard anything from ASU. If they haven't gotten back to me by the April 15th seat deposit deadline, then I'm going to be moving to Tucson regardless of their decision.

i know this is going back in the thread a little, but there was a discussion about mexican food....I can't believe no one mentioned America's. They just opened their 3rd location, practically on ASUs campus. Best Carne Asada in phoenix, best sandwich (torta) in phoenix. For fast(er) food, there really is no contest on this one.

If they create a status checker at the same speed that they render decisions, they'll have one up and running by this time of the year 2023org_chemist wrote:Nope, they don't have a status checker.anni wrote:Am I the only one without a status checker?

woah, woah best? I ate at the one on 7th street in phx and was not impressed. If we are talking mexican food in the valley, carolinas on 12th and mohave, end of story.

I guess I should have been clearer, those 'best in phoenix' remarks are based on the "Phoenix New Times" rankings, not my personal rankings (although I can't say I disagree).gaud wrote:lol although carolinas is the dankness, i am going to have to put in a vote for the og...Filibertossab0tage wrote:Capitol A wrote:i know this is going back in the thread a little, but there was a discussion about mexican food....I can't believe no one mentioned America's. i'd be interested to know what you had at America's, and what about it you thought was underwhelming? I live right by the Melrose location (7th Ave) and have nearly achieved regular status.
While Carolina's and the 'berto's franchises are good, they are also incredibly greasy. I think Filiberto's should have the same advertising as Denny's: "You're drunk. We're Open." America's has amazingly fresh, clean flavors. I have to stand by my statement that it's the best among faster mexican food. NEW Mexican? Different story-Frank and Lupe's. Restaurant mexican? Also different story (that one goes to Barrio Cafe).

Re: Arizona State 2011
believe it or not, I have lived in phx my entire life and never experienced Los Dos. This is probably because of the location, but I have heard only good things. when I ride my bike past it to SoMo, there seems to always be plenty of cars in the parking lot.ColomboHeat wrote:I have to chime in for Los Dos Molinos on Central just south of Baseline... but only if you like it hot

Been waiting to see this name pop up. After 22 years in Phoenix I have yet to find better Mexican food. Great family run restaurant that will burn your taste buds off.ColomboHeat wrote:I have to chime in for Los Dos Molinos on Central just south of Baseline... but only if you like it hot

There is also a location on Washington in that giant Bridal/Tuxedo/Quince strip. But the atmosphere is not so great; it is more of a lunch pit stop & bar spot for business types during the work week. Take a weekend evening and drive down there LOL you will regret not doing so years ago!
no joke!cjw2222 wrote:... will burn your taste buds off.
