Nah. 165, 3.3 here, 20,000 per year. Not exactly a high GPA.
Man... I'm perplexed. I could see if you had great softs you getting in over my 166 3.2, I guess my confusion comes in when you get a sizable scholarship and I simply get held.
Yeah, maybe they are focusing on GPA. Cause I'm 165/3.6 and got 28000. And I think I read a couple pages back of an applicant with 164/3.85 getting 30000. Also the URM applicant with a 155/3.3 getting 28000. I agree that they are putting a lot of stock into GPA and URM.
Edit: Just looked back and saw a 165/3.8 with 32000. So..
165/3.8 = 32000
165/3.6 = 28000
165/3.3 = 20000
Ugh, I should have studied more.

I apologize for the wording of my statement by the way, I didn't want to make it seem like you would NEED great softs to get in over me. You getting in over me is not odd at all, I'm simply confused as to what makes their adcomms give you 20k and me a hold.
No worries, I wasn't offended

Maybe your app is just so amazing you are being YP'd.
Ha! I appreciate it; this'll be my new theory to preserve mental stability.

I have over ten years of high level executive experience, and my ps and lor were strong. extremely high community involvement so its more than a # you'd be amazed at what other schools accepted me also with $

Was scholarship $$ discussed over the phone? I got a VM saying I got in but there was no mention of any $$. Hopefully the admissions packet will have some info. I am 163/3.81, thoughts?

He told me scholarship amount on the phone (I didn't ask). When the packet came, there were two separate letters in it: one indicated acceptance, one indicated scholarship.

Message was left with no mention of scholarship, but when I got the packet it included scholarship info.

If I'm not mistaken, you've got more than one dude doing acceptance calls, so potentially you've got one guy giving out $$ info on the phone (if applicable) while other guys just say congrats.
Also, with that GPA I'd say you're looking at some $. Maybe in the low 20s?

Very good point. I should have said dudettes as well. On that note, did anyone else feel like all the law school mailings they got were really trying hard to emphasize women? I know that's a good thing, but it was kind of funny. You could pretty much bet on opening the viewbook and have some powerful woman in a pants suit staring right at you with her arms crossed.

My caller didn't mention a scholly either but then I emailed and she got right back to me with the scholly info. The caller was Bianca Taylor-Starobin.
With that high GPA you'll probably get 28k. I'm 165/3.6 and got 28k.

I emailed the general admissions email address and they forwarded it to Ms. Taylor-Starobin who promptly wrote me about it. I'm planning my law school visits and didn't want to wait for my admittance packet to learn about my scholly.
Cardozo has an ASD on President's day that I'm considering attending but plane tickets are expensive this close to the date and on a holiday. I know they have travel stipends but I'd still have a good amount out-of-pocket to attend.
