does it seem like diversity students get in a lot easier at SMU than regular applicants? when i was using law school predictor, as long as i check the URM box, it seemed i was able to put in some pretty low numbers and still be considered by SMU. is there just not that much diversity on campus?

Diversity helps at pretty much every law school.

That $40K a year from each law student has to go somewhere. They can only do so many sculpted gardens.

No. If last year is an indication, we still have 4 full weeks to wait.

Hey-I'm hoping for something sooner too, but I think I have finally learned to ignore my status checkers and be pleasantly surprised if/when something happens.

This is credited. Last year, I only looked at my status checker when other applicants in the SMU 2010 thread had status changes.

That's what I've done with several others now, and it is so nice to only finally look at it when it has changed to good news.

They'll tell you the amount of any scholarship you receive on the phone call letting you know that you were admitted, and details of the scholarship will be in the admissions packet.

They didn't tell me about my scholarships over the phone.

I read last year's thread and people who were admitted in January didn't get scholarship info in their initial packet, they got it a couple weeks later by mail around February 19.

They admit over the phone? On their status checker email it says in big bold letters at the bottom "SMU policy does not allow any decisions being given out over the telephone."

That's just their way of saying, "don't call us, we'll call you."

Aceptance is via phone call. If you call and ask for info, then they refer you to that policy.

Based on last years' LSN, see you all back here on January 28th and 29th.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
