Re: Berkeley 2010
Just reading a rejection email sent yesterday afternoon. UR 12/5, 3.9 GPA, 163 and I just completed my PhD in philosophy. Two days before my 30th birthday and Berkeley was my top choice--> Cue soul crushing disappointment. I think they are definitely trying to raise their 25/75th percentile LSAT numbers, but that's just my take.

Look at LSN. There have been people as late as UR 1/11 that have been rejected.clint4law wrote:sorry for those of you that received dings......I'm sure you all will end up at excellent law schools. I was wondering when did you guys go UR?

i wonder if they're just weeding people out at this point. seems like it's mainly been rejections lately...

Re: Berkeley 2010
Really sorry to hear about all of the dings. From the sounds of tls.com it sounds like half of the people rejected have been seriously overlooked/underestimated. I'm really confused and worried...I haven't heard anything since 12/7 (I know...much less than others here) and I really don't know what to expect.
I can't even concentrate on school work...this is getting bad.

I'd be careful with Irvine; new programs take a little while to develop their reputations and move up the rankings.gymboree wrote:have you heard from Irvine yet?Veritas wrote:I def still have some great options in the running.managamy wrote:I'm sure that another great school will be happy to console you. Last year, Berkeley had one small group of AR admits on 2/5 (~10 on LSN) plus a few lone stragglers, but nearly everyone who didn't go into either the February or March FRs was rejected.queenofhearts wrote:i wonder if they're just weeding people out at this point. seems like it's mainly been rejections lately...

That makes sense considering how Berkeley's application review process works.BenJ wrote:Last year, Berkeley had one small group of AR admits on 2/5 (~10 on LSN) plus a few lone stragglers, but nearly everyone who didn't go into either the February or March FRs was rejected.queenofhearts wrote:i wonder if they're just weeding people out at this point. seems like it's mainly been rejections lately...

By when would one need to have applied to make it into the February or March FR?

February FR, probably early December or so. It started already, and their results will be released in a couple of weeks. The March FR contains December and January applicants (not sure if it can contain people passed over for the February FR who were in before December; maybe).autarkh wrote:By when would one need to have applied to make it into the February or March FR?
To be positive, we definitely haven't gotten that AR-admit group yet. I'm guessing next week some time.

Don't know if you've seen it already, but I think you'll find the discussion in the UCI thread interesting. Starts around p. 8, I think.managamy wrote:I'd be careful with Irvine; new programs take a little while to develop their reputations and move up the rankings.

Dean Tom,
Another week begins and my sanity continues its gradual decline. You have already rejected people with my UR date, which makes me even more tense. I LUV BERKELEY I WOULD BE THE PROUDEST GOLDEN BEAR EVAR! Plz call me with an acceptance sometime within the next 3 months/weeks/days/hours. The last option would be much appreciated.

Re: Berkeley 2010
would everybody who is (potentially) part of the Feb/Mar FR have already received an email saying that they have made it to FR? in other words, if i went UR in Dec and have not yet received a notification that I've gone to FR, do you think there's still a chance that I could make FR? i only ask because there's no way i'm an auto-admit and the only realistic chance at getting in is through the FR.BenJ wrote:February FR, probably early December or so. March FR notification probably won't happen until after the February FR is over on 2/19. You could definitely make FR.86revolt wrote:would everybody who is (potentially) part of the Feb/Mar FR have already received an email saying that they have made it to FR? in other words, if i went UR in Dec and have not yet received a notification that I've gone to FR, do you think there's still a chance that I could make FR? i only ask because there's no way i'm an auto-admit and the only realistic chance at getting in is through the FR.BenJ wrote:February FR, probably early December or so. Haven't been following this thread but I am under review 11/18 and have no received any Faculty Review email. Is that a good or bad thing? What is faculty review?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
