does anyone know if there's a page on this thread that discusses how to prepare technology for the interview? what microphones we need or w/e?

Help! It is necessary/expected for me to write a thank you note to KB for my interview? If so, should I send it just the jdadmiss or to another email?
Thanks
Thanks

Finally went complete on 2/1 after waiting 3 and a half weeks. Have many people gotten a JS1 shortly after going complete?

Re: Harvard c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I don't think there's a comprehensive post on it. I have an old laptop so I have an external webcam I bought which has a built-in microphone. For ones with built-in webcams, I've heard any sort of external microphone is recommended, and some people have used headsets with no problems.volp wrote:does anyone know if there's a page on this thread that discusses how to prepare technology for the interview? what microphones we need or w/e?
Neither necessary nor (imo) expected. But if you insist, it should probably be to the jdamiss e-mail.5buildingsin1 wrote:Help! It is necessary/expected for me to write a thank you note to KB for my interview? If so, should I send it just the jdadmiss or to another email?

Not sure how many people it's happened to, but it happens. It also depends on what you mean by "shortly." I would say it's certainly possible you'd be included in the next JS1 wave--even if it's sometime next week.jselson wrote:Finally went complete on 2/1 after waiting 3 and a half weeks. Thanks, Lavitz. I looked on lawschoolnumbers and it seems like quite a few people hear back pretty quickly (1-2 weeks). I wonder if the next JS1 wave will take awhile, though, since it seems like they've already blocked out their interviews through Feb 14.Lavitz wrote:Not sure how many people it's happened to, but it happens. Yeah, I doubt it'll actually be next week since we just had a wave. Maybe the week after next, just before the last interviews from this batch conclude.jselson wrote:Thanks, Lavitz. I'm going to be in Chestnut Hill this week, would it be beneficial to drop by the admissions office and talk to someone? I don't want to come off as strange, but if it can benefit me, I'd obviously do it for my #1.
AA/m, sub-median numbers, complete since early November

Sure, visiting along the lines of getting to know the place will at least show that you have a strong interest.Anon2008 wrote:I'm going to be in Chestnut Hill this week, would it be beneficial to drop by the admissions office and talk to someone? Same spot, but completed in early December. Don't go! If you do, I'll have to go as well and trains to cambridge aren't cheap.Anon2008 wrote:AA/m, sub-median numbers, complete since early November

No HB intended, lol. Unless a Hail Mary hits, I'll be at UT, or GULC and you guys can laugh at my application when it comes across your BigLaw desk, haha.

Ahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa. I actually find it really strange to think about the fact that TLS folks might know each other in real life without knowing it...Wormfather wrote:ManOfTheMinute wrote: Fair... but his profile says HYP

for those of you in school for your interview, where are you planning to do it so you won't be disturbed?

Do you have many leather bound books that make your apart smell like rich mahogany that will impress JS?carboncopyx wrote:I was just going to do it in my room and close my door and tell my roommate not to bother me.volp wrote:for those of you in school for your interview, where are you planning to do it so you won't be disturbed?

This. I talked to my boss about it, and I scheduled my JS1 so I could use her office while she was on her lunch break. I posted a big "DO NOT DISTURB ME OR I WILL RUIN YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS LIKE YOU HAVE RUINED MINE" sign on the door for the coworkers.zdamico wrote:I just talked to a few professors and other people and got an office to do it in.
