So what did you decide? I know you're in a few waitlists (according to your profile) but did you take the Cornell offer? I wonder if you can negotiate at this point by leveraging your other schollies such as BU's, GW's, Fordham's and Emory's. Probably won't get a match but I wonder if something can be squeezed out.T20hopeful89 wrote:RetakeFrenzy wrote:Congrats! T20hopeful & sideoffries.
Cornell's 6/10 deadline sounds ridiculous though
Thanks! It's mostly just overwhelming, as usually you're given about a week to decide, but I think we can buy ourselves some more time by not sending a deposit immediately (they say asap - whatever that means).

I'm not t20hopeful, but I withdrew my offer of admissions because, like Lavitz said, sticker at NYU for my situation is a lot better than ???? at Cornell. I applied EA hoping to avoid the "we have no scholarship $" situation.chraruce wrote:So what did you decide? Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I gave cornell a verbal commitment and they are giving me the opportunity to come visit before I make any sort of financial deposit. I am still on a few waitlists (withdrew from all the schools you mentioned where I had scholarship, other than Fordham -- that's where I'm actually deposited at the moment). We'll see what happens with waitlist movement, but I'm not sure how much I expect out of that, so I'll likely be at cornell in the fall. Sideoffries - I definitely agree that NYU at sticker is better than Cornell at sticker. Good luck!sideoffries wrote:I'm not t20hopeful, but I withdrew my offer of admissions because, like Lavitz said, sticker at NYU for my situation is a lot better than ???? at Cornell. In off the reserve as well! I never got a status update either, so I wouldn't worry too much if you were stuck on 4/15. I got my decision via email this afternoon. I sent two LOCI's, one of which was a "Why Cornell" essay; I also visited the school.

Re: Cornell c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Congratulations to the new admits! And the beginning of a succesful legal/political career has begun.
Strangely enough, this feels almost as if some friends had just gotten the seats. Glad that Cornell is spreading some elation this year.
Maybe we'll see each other in court (or in class, I hope very much)!
If my predicted timings are correct (which so far have been pretty good, I think), there will be one or two more rounds of reserve list admissions and then the waitlist will start being generated in 7-8 days (june 20/june 21, 2013).
I'll bet $10 on this.
I'll be obligated to make a new account called "The_TLS_Oracle" if I'm right.
