There must be a reason for it. I don't know what, but imagine they have a counter built into the status page that keeps track of the number of times you checked your status!! that's sickfish52 wrote:I really do wish that it would email us with our DLS.... it's so cruel and unusual to make us constantly refresh our status checker. This would be a bit of information I hope they can't see. That might be slightly embarrassing...SLS2011 wrote:There must be a reason for it. I picture all of us in that "What's your number?" Prudential commercial holding up signs with a number. Except the number isn't our retirement number, it's the number of times we've checked the SLS status checker. 1,000,000 sounds about right.cardinals1989 wrote:This would be a bit of information I hope they can't see. Haha. I haven't checked the status checker all that much. It's super stressful.ExpectLess wrote:I picture all of us in that "What's your number?" Prudential commercial holding up signs with a number. There are 34 acceptances on LSN for this year. Do you think that number fits with your stats?[/quote]Vuvuzela!!! wrote:I had a quick glance at last year''s LSN data. 50 of the acceptances had a reported decision date. 12 of those acceptances have a decision date later than today. So if that is any kind of guide, Stanford leaves a little less than 25% of their acceptances for the second review.
I'm sure some of you will be hearing. Good luck.
Edit: 2009 data was 43 acceptances with a decision date, and 11 of those 43 with a date later than today (they start the 24th). So I think the 25% figure is a good estimate, unless LSN has a strange reporting bias.
I fear that looking at just those who reported decision dates skews the sample to the latter bit of the cycle. My feeling is, earlier in the cycle people are less willing to out themselves with dates. One possible reason why 25% estimate might actually be lower.

Stanford is now officially the very last school I am waiting to hear from, and it is the one I have cared about the most. I really hope the wait was worthwhile.

Pretty silent today on this thread. I'm guessing the next two weeks are going to be really busy, though.

Haha.. wait until you start doing ASWs and meet people "considering" Yale.. well adjusted many of them are not. Unless I have seen a tremendously unrepresentative sample, the idea of Yale being "laid-back" does not compute.r6_philly wrote:They go tomisterbingley wrote: i wonder what it's like to be this well-adjustedHarvardYale?

I met someone yesterday who deferred twice to Yale and still doesn't want to go. Me sad.
