If only that would stop me from checking to make sure I haven't missed a call every thirty seconds. . .whosinthehousejc wrote:Yeah, my money's on early next week.honey wrote:I want to doubt that they'll do it on a Friday when every other one has been early in the week, but doubting probably means it'll happen because this cycle has been unpredictable like thatpylon wrote:It's Friday morning...
That makes sense. You're probably right, but I really hope HLS proves you wrong!whosinthehousejc wrote:Yeah, my money's on early next week.honey wrote:I want to doubt that they'll do it on a Friday when every other one has been early in the week, but doubting probably means it'll happen because this cycle has been unpredictable like thatpylon wrote:It's Friday morning...

You mean you had your interview in early Feb?DiniMae wrote:I'm an early Feb JS1 (Below both medians) so I'm happy to get in today, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...
+1 on this explanation - skimming off the top and bottom based on some kooky index Harvard uses seems most plausible to me w/r/t deciding who gets JS1s.lawapp1 wrote:
I'm in the same boat. Pretty much median. Some of us (me) may be headed for the waitlist, but I don't think that all of us are. If H is working through roughly numerically, rejecting ppl at the bottom of the pile first, and accepting people at the top, it would make sense that people at median would hear last. That said, I don't have any special insight into the admissions process so maybe I'm just being optimistic and we are all getting waitlisted.
I think alot of us were under the (somewhat reasonable) impression that they were kinda unnecessary email-clutter, but then Karen Butenbaum (former HLS DOA) said they were a nice touch so I'd recommend sending one. Wish I had now haha in retrospect I feel like I should have known thenpacifico wrote:Just had my JS1 today. Wow that was nerve-wracking! Lasted a grand total of 15 minutes. Wish all the new JS1s the best of luck too!
Incidentally, what's the opinion on thank you emails after JS1s?
but don't even THINK about calling me on a Thursday, JS... Thursday is DiniMaeDayDiniMae wrote:I'm an early Feb JS1 (Below both medians) so I'm happy to get in today, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...
but you still help HLS' gpa median. and also it could mean HLS is feeling the impact of declining high LSATs and is being forced to reach a little lower for the lsat (making a 25<lsat<50 slightly more valuable). who knows thoughIndy16 wrote:I would have thought this, but I am 25<LSAT<50 and 50<GPA<75, submitted in late Jan and just got a JS1 in the recent wave. Not sure what that implies really.Four Winds wrote:+1 on this explanation - skimming off the top and bottom based on some kooky index Harvard uses seems most plausible to me w/r/t deciding who gets JS1s.lawapp1 wrote:

I got a JS1 invite at the end of Jan, but due to schedulig issues, I didn't actually have one until early Feb even though there were a few Jan slots. I'm hoping I make the next wave and not wait until March. But I'll take March/April/May over no day, so......yea.meyer5541 wrote:You mean you had your interview in early Feb?DiniMae wrote:I'm an early Feb JS1 (Below both medians) so I'm happy to get in today, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...
Wrong thread (check the Class of 2018), but for everyone's sake, no they probably won't care. At most it might drop you GPA a bit, but that's not going to be bad enough for them to change their minds*.cloudysky wrote:Hi everyone, I've got a bit of a conundrum. I've recently been admitted to Harvard Law. However, due to a stupid oversight on my part missing the deadline to drop a course, I find myself at risk of failing one of my courses in my last term. Even if I fail this course, I'll still have all my requirements to graduate, and my other marks will be consistent with the GPA that I used to apply with. My question is do you guys think failing a course in my last term will jeopardize my admission?

My guess is they could be waiting for Feb. LSAT scores before going back to the early submitters.qwertyTLS wrote:1. is there anyone who still hasn't gone complete (particularly those who applied at the deadline)?
2. has anyone who submitted at the deadline gone complete AND received a js1?
once #2 happens, i hope we'll see more movement for the early submitters who are waiting (both for js1 and js2 waves), because it means they'll have gone through the entire applicant pool
My understanding was that HLS didn't accept February test scores:nejlas wrote:My guess is they could be waiting for Feb. LSAT scores before going back to the early submitters.qwertyTLS wrote:1. is there anyone who still hasn't gone complete (particularly those who applied at the deadline)?

I thought you must have your FIRST test score by Dec, but that you're welcome to retake in Feb unless the Dean decides otherwise (like the 13-14 cycle).altf4 wrote:My understanding was that HLS didn't accept February test scores:nejlas wrote:My guess is they could be waiting for Feb. You must also take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) before the February 1 application deadline (no later than the December LSAT administration) in order for your application to be guaranteed consideration.
So hopefully that's not what'll slow things down.

Since the Oscars are over and my predictions bombed (Boyhood was robbed!), might as well try to predict when the next JS2 wave will hit:pylon wrote:It'sFridayMonday morning...
