That typo was literally in 9 out of 10 of my cover letters...epic fail.
Mine would have been worse though. I didn't realized I hadn't locked my phone, so it would have looked something like this:
"Thank you for aconfjgnifndjdandjbfiandfvjd f fsn



before it changed over to another language. Thankfully, it didn't actually send and they got a nice, articulate version.
& and someone who had hired people before...I never really looked at the cover letter. Resume first. Read cover letters for the maybe pile and then for those I decided to interview. So basically, just don't have any typos on your resume.
