btw, getting rejected from SLS was SO freeing. A WL would've been terrible for me because I probably wouldn't have gotten off the WL, but would've made a poor decision because of it.

I like to think that they are having a head to head 128 application tournament with our applications. Those who make it out of the first two rounds get waitlisted and the last 16 standing get offers of admission. Seems about right.

This seems to be a recurring theory. If both of us thought of it, it can't be wrong!

Could we get some sort of spreadsheet going on the SLS WL thread for all of the waitlisted candidates where they indicate whether they are staying on so we have some idea of how large this waitlist is? it seems huge to me.

Called, and "it looks like we have offered you a place on the waitlist." Given that I'm holding acceptances from HLS and YLS, I won't accept the position, so decision pending, my cycle is done!!!

Ahh. Well NYU is an amazing school. but financially wouldn't Cal (aren't you in-state?) and UVA both end up cheaper if the numbers listed in your profile are accurate?
