Re: U Chicago 2010
I emailed them yesterday to ask if they had an idea of when I would hear, and they responded this morning saying a few weeks.

HAH I got in in DEC, turned my fin aid stuff in teh same week. They told all of us (people who turned everything in on time) we would hear by the 14th of FEB the latest, I believe it was March by the time the majority of us heard.mjets10 wrote:Did you call to ask or did you receive an e-mail? Just wanted to point this out...
Both NU Law and Chicago Law are starting two week spring breaks now. Today is the Friday before the first week of break.
At the U of C: they are having finals
At Northwestern: All of my Friday classes were cancelled

Question for those of y'all who've been accepted...
I got an email inviting me to apply for the "Dewey LeBoeuf Emerging Law Leaders Scholarship" --- but from the website, it looks like it's only available for Teach for America alumni. True? Not true? Thanks! (The essay is due in 2 days, which I thought was odd, since I got the email on Friday...)

I e-mailed and asked and it is just for TFA alumni. They only sent it out to make sure that no one forgot to mention TFA on their application.LDC wrote:Question for those of y'all who've been accepted...

I'm hoping this means they didn't receive a whole lot of applications for the scholarship. Anyone else on this thread trying for it?Rand M. wrote:I e-mailed and asked and it is just for TFA alumni. Any other 3/4 UCRs out there that weren't a part of last week's WL/dingfest?

So Chicago's supposedly unveiling a new PI initiative at their ASW. Does anyone have any more details on this or know where I might find out more? Also, when's the ASW?

Most likely, according first-hand to folks in the know: expanded LRAP, director of PI, 3-4 more clinics offered, move from forgivable loans to outright grants for those doing PI over the summer, and more funding for folks looking to head to regional PI fairs during 2L/3L.beef wellington wrote:So Chicago's supposedly unveiling a new PI initiative at their ASW. Those seem to be the big pieces of the PI overhaul that Dean Schill is hoping to announce at ASW. I'm personally pretty excited to hear the details of each!

Just fyi, they already hired the new PI person in their career services department and he is already on the job, so that's a sure thing.

I'd be really excited about that. My UR date also changed to 3/9. It was originally UR in Feb, but I don't remember the date. I was complete in late Jan. It probably doesn't mean anything, but it is nice to see some kind of movement.
