I know they say that you must submit a request to use the February LSAT score in your application, but are they really going to ignore my updated CAS report if I don't? Went from 160 to 171.

I can't answer your question. But if you can, why don't you wait for the next cycle? You chances will be far better if you apply this fall.

I'm going to see what happens this cycle and go from there.

They automatically consider your score if they have not made a decision on your application.

Waitlisting >75 people is not the way to do that. So I doubt it.

Not really sure, but I do think they are running the risk of shooting themselves in the foot by being so weird and dragging this out. People with similar or better options are having lots of time to get comfy with other possibilities.

(I could just be annoyed, though. Above both 75ths, solid softs, and radio silence since September.)

OK total neuroticism/ self-interest in asking this, but do we have any sort of consensus as to why early to mid-cycle applicants (November or early December) with high numbers (around or above the 75ths) have heard nothing at all yet?

I wish I could figure out what's going on...this is killing me with my early October submit. If they don't want me, I'd be pretty upset, but I'd rather know earlier rather than later.

Is there anyone else who thinks this may have given the admissions committee pause? Or am I the only one who needs to learn to read instructions better?

Candidates to Columbia Law School are required to submit a personal essay or statement supplementing required application materials. This statement may provide the Admissions Committee with information regarding matters such as: personal, family, or educational background; experiences and talents of special interests; reasons for applying to Columbia Law School as they may relate to personal goals and professional expectations; or any other factors that you think should inform the Committee's evaluation of your candidacy for admission, employment, and community service.

FWIW, there was nothing about career goals in my PS and I ended up with a Hamilton.
