Sooo... just curious, anyone else out there get the "special group on the preferred waiting list" designation via email and, if so, get any sort of change in status?

I wouldn't expect to be able to generate log in info today, the thursday update (without one on wednesday) and citizenship change has been a great sign in the past though. Its more likely you'll update again tomorrow and/or monday, and be able to get your username/password a few hours after the monday update.southernsuperstar wrote:Any chance at productivity today just went out the window. I got a thursday update, today, but it's my fifth one, after an interview last week. When should I be able to generate?

Right here! I sent an LOCI via email and got a personalized response saying I was "in the best possible position to be admitted should spaces become available" earlier this week but nothing since.... fingers crossed!illy22 wrote:Sooo... just curious, anyone else out there get the "special group on the preferred waiting list" designation via email and, if so, get any sort of change in status?

Haha, wow I got, verbatim, the exact same message/response when I sent mine in as well. Wondering how true that statement really is!meredy171 wrote:Right here! Thank you, Georgetown, for inviting me to apply and reminding me of your application deadline...because apparently I've expressed interest in applying. It's not like you've, you know, already accepted me into your incoming class.
What an insult.

I got this message as well (as part of a response to my LOCI), and was later accepted off that "special group," so they are definitely admitting people from there. Don't lose hope!

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I submitted in mid-December, and I believe I had two complete dates within the week I submitted. Then I had no movement for a month until Georgetown contacted me for an interview (got another complete date then). Had the interview yesterday, updated for the fourth time today. (I know some people update five times, and maybe I only updated once in mid-December??) Any idea if I have a long wait ahead of me?
Sorry, I'm sure people have discussed this. I've searched through pages of this thread, but it's hard to tell!

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Am I the only one who is baffled by this? I think it's strange to put candidates on a waitlist before making all the admissions decisions. "Should spots become available" w/i a particular LSAT/GPA/particular range or what? Bc obvs spots r still avail if the school is still in the process of filling the class and interviewing ppl. I've also heard of ppl being put on waitlists in the fall and admitted a month or two later.zylaxice wrote: Right here! Why wouldn't the school just hold the app and see how the rest of the candidate pool turns out before rendering a decision?
Legit curious...do not understand the logic of law school admissions...

I've sent my LOCI almost 3 weeks ago and received the same waitlist confimation email, but my status checker never updated from the decision date. So it's a big encouragement to hear that someone's actually getting off the 'special group' waitlist...

Logged in! Before ASW I was pretty much resolved to NYU or next cycle... but GTOWN is really enticing... do you know they have a gym exclusively for law students... unreal.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
