Are the js1 batches getting smaller? Or it just cuz tls is a small sample?

Might be because they haven't gone through the holds yet/are waiting to finish the rest non-holds before holds, and the numbers go down closer to the deadline.

Yeah, looking at the numbers on LSN, not that many people applied in late December and January, relative to October and November. It also looks to me as if the LSAT and GPA numbers for late December and January applications are a little lower, on average.

How long did most of you receive your UR emails after submitting? And how long after that for the "complete" emails?

There is no UR email, just a status update. Then, some time after the status update, you will get the Complete email. Generally about a week or so passes between the two (I think).

You're probably okay given the reduced number of applications and the large number of holds here. I don't think you sabotaged yourself.

You're probably okay given the reduced number of applications and the large number of holds here. I don't think you sabotaged yourself.

Thank you! My numbers are super low for Harvard as it stands, but I'm hoping that "soft" factors will make the difference. I plan to retake the LSAT in June if I get waitlisted instead of rejected outright...

I am not in the position to tell you to expect anything. I went from October to January without any news.

Maybe, as it seems to be the case this year, Harvard historically holds URM candidates with weaker numbers until later in the cycle to see how their diversity numbers are unfolding?

This is incredibly interesting.

I know the CW is that applying in say... November is better than applying in January in all cases. But I think there is probably a case to be made for the strategic value of a January app if you have a stellar LSAT. Coming across a fantastic score in an otherwise bleak landscape of below 25th apps could be a powerful advantage for the applicant.

You have to remember that just because an application was submitted in Oct/Nov doesn't mean that the applicant got word before January, i.e. plenty of people with 173-176s were held this year. So maybe it might help in the initial review of your application, but I doubt it considering the quality of applicants being held simultaneously.
