Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
And the final JS1 wave on March 14, so it looks like the offices were not closed for spring break. But that's good news for those waiting for a JS1! It can happen!!!anonperson2017 wrote:Adding to the speculation: according to last year, their spring break was March 13-20, and had JS2 waves March 10-11, and then not again until the 28th. So timing again for today would make sense.CHyde wrote:But will the admissions office close during spring break? I was searching on the website and have turned up nada.calpolisci2016 wrote:Does anyone think the spring break schedule has anything to do with when ad comm will do a js2 wave?
HLS students are due for spring break from march 11-19.
If there are two big waves left, and if the office is closed during spring break, then they'd have to do it Friday March 10 in order to split the two big waves.
Otherwise, they'd be doing two big waves in the last two weeks of March. I think that outcome is less likely.
By several accounts in this thread, there are no interviews scheduled for March 10, either. Given all of this, the conditions are RIPE for a Friday js2 wave tomorrow.

I have a 3.4/177, I assume we are in the same general spot (I would give you the advantage because it seems like there is an unofficial 3.5 cutoff).4'sup wrote:Haven't heard anything back. Splitter: 3.5X, 176. Not expecting much, but still holding a tiny sliver of hope. Any chance of JS1's still?

They probably figure out who to reject as they go along, but send out all the rejection letters at once to streamline the process.CA1993 wrote:Does anyone know why they wait so long to reject? It seems like after a certain time if you haven't gotten a JS1 you're pretty close to a ding anyways

Not to be a buzz kill, but the JS2 waves so far this year seem to be about a week behind the JS2 waves last year. So my money is on JS2 wave next week.

I've been searching Harvard's site, but do we know their policy on application updates? I have significant new work experience since I applied, and would rather submit it now if there's any possibility it would make the difference between an accept and a WL

I had a similar situation and decided to just submit it. They responded positively and said they'd be "Sure to include it in my current application".lsa16 wrote:I've been searching Harvard's site, but do we know their policy on application updates? They told me during my interview if I had any updates to email them to the JD admissions email and they will update your file - I've done it twice now because I got a named scholarship from my university and a significant job promotion.lsa16 wrote:I've been searching Harvard's site, but do we know their policy on application updates? Ah thank you both! And I can just send a pdf update? I read some 5 year old comment on TLS that said Harvard doesn't let you include attachments or something which I am not taking as gospel but just wanted to make sure that's incorrectemlaw03 wrote:I had a similar situation and decided to just submit it.
