Will they accept held applicants before rendering initial decisions for other applicants?

I'm really thankful they accepted me, but after starting the cycle as my dream school, my response to Columbia's email at this point was basically to laugh. It took four months and my acceptance was buried among shopping emails... somewhat anticlimactic.
So they email acceptances after all? What about dings?

How wonderfully sadistic. Even for international applicants? I live in a country with one of the worst postal services in the world so if that is true I'll make sure to keep an eye out for that rejection in 15 years. Wompwomp.

this is true, but they will request your 2012 right after so why not just file and send that in. and if your 2012 differs heavily from your 2011 and stated NeedAccess ect., they will just change the scholarship anyway

also, any particular reason you received it in the mail? do they not email the scholarship offers?
I mean, I'm not purposely trying to put off filing. We're just slow like that. :)

I'm not sure why I would receive it in the mail instead of receiving it via email. If it helps, I live in the Pacific Northwest area. And I believe I submitted my finaid materials the day before the deadline.

Have faith, kingfish. I was also just admitted off hold via email.

3.25/177. Held in the big hold wave (whenever that was, I'm on my phone.) Submitted 1/9. Complete 1/21.

I can barely believe it.

Forgot to mention, I sent an loci about 3 weeks ago. I'm inclined to believe it helped.
