Why?

I talked about it earlier in the thread. I emailed them and asked them to change my mailing address to my house so it would get sent here, but they had already sent it to my mailing address, and responded to my mailing address request by sending me the PDF.

Oh, I was under the impression from this that they were still mailing unless you called. I mean, hopefully they mailed it out on Monday, in which case it'd get here in Indiana by today or tomorrow...but if not, I suppose I'll have to call.

Wait, wait. I want to make sure everyone understands this.

Monday the 14th: Cornell puts my acceptance letter in the mail.
Monday the 14th: By coincidence, I email the admissions office and ask that my mailing address be changed to my house so I will receive my letter over winter break (still EAC 11/11).
Tuesday the 15th: Cornell responds to my email telling me they mailed my letter already, so my mailing change will not help. They attach a PDF of my letter because they are very nice, NOT because they are emailing acceptances.
Wednesday 16th/Thursday 17th: At 12:00am exactly, my EAC 11/11 changed to Decision. I expect that my mailbox at school will receive the physical letter tomorrow or the day after. Had I not emailed the admissions office, I would not have gotten a PDF of my letter.

To my knowledge, Cornell has not started emailing acceptances.

I don't think it's "inevitable" at all - Cornell likes 169s. Last year most 169s got in, most 168s were WL. Regardless - I may break down and call, or I might wait until Monday. I feel strange calling when they say to wait 10 to 14 days, even though others are...

Idk, I just have a bad feeling. Kinda like I had a feeling I'd go to DR tonight. (I'm very superstitious about these sorts of things that I can't control) Idk-- I just have pretty terrible softs and a few other 169s just got deferred, so I'm figuring I'm in that batch. I guess I'll find out soon enough.

it just changed a few minutes ago......any idea if it's an admit/reject?

I might drop in an email. I don't feel like bothering them for my almost definite WL/rejection. Unless of course they suddenly fancy extreme splitters.

did we come to the consensus that the status checkers change exactly at 12:00 am EST, not 1 minute earlier or later?

No clue. Based on the few numbers I can see for those of us who went DR 12/14, it looks like we're all over the place. Plus, Cornell seems to have been rather "holistic" with this year's EA applicants, so it's impossible to make a meaningful prediction. We know of at least person who went DR on 12/14 and got accepted (see above) so, at worst, it's a mix.
