Nothing is worse than admissions for a reverse splitter.
Reverse splitter here, and I think scholly is worse, esp because I'm not about to be getting any full-tuitions. But I think it depends on your goals--if you want HYS more than life itself, finaid doesn't matter because you assume sticker and you'll go regardless, so admissions is worse. If you're debt-averse, now we're getting into scholly territory where one school needs a commitment by mid-April and the other is saying you might not even get a package until early April. It's way more stressful, I think, and with the reverse-splitterness there's no predicting.
Sorry for the essay, definitely stressing about this.

I'm a regular splitter and the scholly situation is stressing me out. Columbia, Penn, and NU are killing me with taking so long with their money.

Think they might be assuming you have GI Bill?
I've made it VERY clear in the aid applications that I don't have the full G.I. bill

Based on last year's time line. We are due for second wave of rejections and new round of JS1s anytime, maybe tomorrow. At this point I'd be happy with a rejection so I don't have to worry anymore and can move on. Fingers crossed.

Does anyone think the spring break schedule has anything to do with when ad comm will do a js2 wave?
HLS students are due for spring break from march 11-19.
If there are two big waves left, and if the office is closed during spring break, then they'd have to do it Friday March 10 in order to split the two big waves.
Otherwise, they'd be doing two big waves in the last two weeks of March. I think that outcome is less likely.
By several accounts in this thread, there are no interviews scheduled for March 10, either. Given all of this, the conditions are RIPE for a Friday js2 wave tomorrow.

Also it would suck to go to HLS and then have it slip out of the HYS tier while you're there. Obviously that isn't going to happen, but if it did and you chose it over $ at CCN you'd probably be pretty upset.
Thank you for bringing to my attention this new and horrible possibility.
All the serenity brought to me by the post about there being hundreds of acceptances left just evaporated into fear.

Haven't heard anything back. Splitter: 3.5X, 176. Not expecting much, but still holding a tiny sliver of hope. Any chance of JS1's still?

It's possible. There'll probably be one more JS1 wave next week, based on what we know (and people have said that in the past there've been JS1's as late as late march, so who knows).
After next week, I would start managing expectations. For now, hope is still on the table.

By several accounts in this thread, there are no interviews scheduled for March 10, either. Given all of this, the conditions are RIPE for a Friday js2 wave tomorrow.
But will the admissions office close during spring break? I was searching on the website and have turned up nada.
If you're curious. Call them. They'll answer this question for you

Adding to the speculation: according to last year, their spring break was March 13-20, and had JS2 waves March 10-11, and then not again until the 28th. So timing again for today would make sense.

And if you do call and find out, don't post it here. Dyebri is still on the shit list for harassing Spivey on here and twitter. Also Dyebri has failed to provide any insight whether we're in a counter cycle or not....

For those who submitted applications on February 1st, Is it next to impossible to be admitted or granted an interview? Should February 1st applicants expect to hear nothing in the month of March?

Also, according to last year they did, however, send out a couple rejection waves over their spring break, but JS2's still were the week before and after.

I think it depends on your stats and the average JS1 wait time is a little over a month

You'll hear back in March (or very very early April) one way or another. It's not impossible to be admitted or interviewed, no.

Does anyone know why they wait so long to reject? It seems like after a certain time if you haven't gotten a JS1 you're pretty close to a ding anyways
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
