There may actually be some merit to that statement. I can't think of anyone who had a quick turnover like that who did not get quickly accepted (and I can think of a handful who were). Good luck!

i pray your right...

does NYU offer merit or need based scholarships or are there only those scholarships we were encouraged to apply for with our app?

That would be nice, although I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. Pretty sure I submitted 12/22, got the status checker email 1/4, and am now under review 1/7. People around the same numbers as me seem to have been accepted (168/4.0) but I submitted very late it seems. Regardless, good luck to my fellow 1/7ers!

I suppose it is also possible their process has gotten faster now that they have gotten the first couple rounds of decisions out. Eh, whatever the case is, best of luck to you guys.

I just went back to the date I went UR and everyone else who went UR that day except one got in in the 12/22 wave =/ On LSN last year, NYU did a wave of acceptances in the second week of Jan. Hoping I fell through the cracks like a few people on LSN in that wave and will hear then. C'mon NYU, if I could take back that first LSAT, believe me, I would. Don't use it against me!!

has NYU been doing decisions in waves according to UR dates? 1/7 as well, but I submitted much earlier than everyone (11/30), so I didn't have a quick turnaround and am not even close to auto-admit numbers...

I submitted 12/19.. still processing 12/19, no UR email or anything. Is this a bad sign considering people who submitted after me at 12/23 are UR??? I'm 3.74/177, I really hope they put me UR on Monday!

A lot of people seem to be in the "still processing boat" I'm 165/3.87/Mexican American and I have been processing since 11/28. In my case I sorta assumed they were waiting to see if more URMs would apply with better numbers before they would make a decision on me. It could mean the waitlist, but some of the people who have posted don't have waist list numbers IMHO

For anyone who's been admitted, did you get a merit award with your letter? Or is NYU one of those schools that sends that information later?

Yep, NYU sends merit $ info later - I believe around/after February.

Don't say that, you're getting my hopes up me and parsi have very similar numbers (same gpa/little less on the lsat but with a masters and 6yrs WE), I'm hoping to here some good news from NYU today or sometime in the near future!

I will say again what I've said on this thread a couple of times now...NYU's status checker-fu is clearly weak. Therefore everyone gets these time-traveling bananas updates.
