Technically I said "it seems." Maybe they will have a small class, or maybe they have reason to believe they will have a high yield value or maybe I am just a moron.sfn91 wrote:Spivey said NYU still has lots of offers to give out. Re: NYU c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
So I called yesterday and spoke to someone and they said I probably wouldnt know till end of April. We talked about my stats work experience and about if I was retaking in June, which I am.
Just logged in and Im DLS, but no email yet... Im guessing its a ding since I was a longshot anyway. I also had a missed called from NYC but it wasnt NYU, but thats what inspired me to check in today.
Lol maybe the call inspired them to put me out of my state of vigilance...
Also does tbat mean Im getting a letter as no email? Or just they havent sent the batch out yet?

Here's my thing, NYU did say they have a goal to cut class size (I remember someone posting a link to the source, which was NYU itself).
So, now I'm scared.

I feel like I haven't even seen anyone with that date but me. Assuming a WL or ding at this point but grasping for hints and clues haha

I'm super interested that they actually got into an in-depth conversation with you instead of rushing you off the phone with a generic answer. Do you mind sharing/PMing your stats?

Yes; this intrigues me also because the front desk people are the ones who answer and I wasn't under the impression that they'd discuss specifics. I still think it's coincidence that you're DLS today (as in, I don't believe your phone convo played a role either way)jessmeesh wrote:StephArizona wrote:So I called yesterday and spoke to someone and they said I probably wouldnt know till end of April. I'd take this with a huge grain of salt and as little more than just an adcom talking point to encourage matriculation.

Looooooooooong shot stats for LSAT and UGPA.jessmeesh wrote:StephArizona wrote:So I called yesterday and spoke to someone and they said I probably wouldnt know till end of April. We talked about my stats work experience and about if I was retaking in June, which I am.

Oh forgot to say the reason why I called was to ask about NYUs protocal for LOCI.
RTK and FS scholarship applicant. Im nontraditional with 21 year career, 11 years within the nonprofit sector with 3 as a professor teaching nonprofit leaders and grad students... my only chance was a holistic appeal to softs i.e. 2- 4.0 Graduate Degress, solid application packet and outstanding recommendations 1 academic and 2 professional.
Basically great on all the insignificant stuff. Strong in 3 out of the 5 of the areas they look at, but missing the mark on the most important 2 LSAT and GPA.
22 Min Call (just checked my phone.)
I applied blind on Jan 1 because that was the deadline for the scholarship. My Dec LSAT should have been at 50% ir higher but it wasnt and fell to below the 25%. Went UR1 Jan 4, UR2 last week. DLS today.
No email still about the DLS, so maybe the batch didnt go out? I did get the 2/24 email about still being under review.
A ding was the expected result once I had my LSAT and I missed Feb due to illness, so that would not be a surprising... however even a WL would be shocking and being the long shot that got in would be nothing short of a mircle. I know NYU always has one or two but still, I try to be realistic.

I just received an email that I'm invited to the IILJ Joyce Lowinson Admitted Student Days, just wondering if anyone else did too?
Also does anyone have any information on what to expect, beyond what is stated in the email? Thanks!
