you need to fax in your & your parents completed tax returns prior to them reviewing your fileManOfTheMinute wrote:When did you submit all your finaid stuff?elterrible78 wrote:Just got my award letter via e-mail. $85,000. Not bad at all, and I appreciate it, but that's not going to be enough to compete with my offers from Michigan, Virginia, or Chicago, so I'm probably going to shortly withdraw. Best of luck to you all!
Also, do we have to send in our taxes before we can an offer or is it like SLS where we don't have to until we accept the offer?

I highly doubt they're going to offer anyone else named schollies at this stage of the game. I think this is just Columbia being their slow selves. I'm pretty sure there were some radio silence people who didn't hear anything until mid-April last year.Wormfather wrote:Complete 11/28, radio silence since. Is it possible that they're waiting for someone to turn down a named scholly? I just dont get it. I mean, I havnt even been held.

Just curious, but are you basing that off of last cycle's LSN? I haven't looked at it, so I don't know, but I was holding onto the hope that the reason Columbia hadn't gotten back to me was that they were going to give me a scholarship lol.Lavitz wrote:I highly doubt they're going to offer anyone else named schollies at this stage of the game. Last couple of years on LSN
Though getting 50-75k in $$ is possible, you will likely not receive a named scholarship based on historical data.
From like 5 years of data, there is one exception (a urm)

Yeah, it looks like all the named scholarships are set in stone in February.

it honestly seems pretty need-focused at this stage. thats the only way i can see me getting $0K, to be honest and I mean that in the most humble way possible - i sent them in significant offers from Chicago, NYU and Penn

What would it take to win you over? 85k? I always thought schools are pretty loathe to lose lifers (which makes sense from a donation perspective). Maybe if they knew you had HLS/SLS they'd make some money available.az21833 wrote:it honestly seems pretty need-focused at this stage. thats the only way i can see me getting $0K, to be honest and I mean that in the most humble way possible - i sent them in significant offers from Chicago, NYU and Penn

yeah perhaps, i just never knew it was appropriate to mention that and really don't know how to broach the topic at this point. 85K is essentially a butler and i almost certainly would have attended with that, given I'm facing sticker at H/S. Again, i think it is largely need driven which is why I wasn't consideredbanjo wrote:What would it take to win you over? 85k? I think there's a lag. It took the office a few days to process my LOCI when I sent it through the web form.bl1234 wrote:

I called them today and asked because i sent mine a month ago. They told me that they don't typically send out email confirmations and the guy looked up my file and said the loci was in there.bluecouch wrote:I think there's a lag. No news since being held in late February. I think there has only been a single post-hold acceptance so far (which happened last week); he/she is URM.chickpea wrote:decisions?
