Re: Stanford c/o 2017 (2013-2014 applicants)
Ugh time for a rant. Seriously, with 74+ people still under review, it baffles me why more decisions haven't been sent out yet. If we surmise that there are around 8~9 admit spots left, then that means that 65 are wl/dings. I honestly feel that they could make a decision for 65 people. Probably not for the people who are on the cutoff, like 7th~10th favorite person on the list, but at least for the people who are on the lower end of the totem pole, their least favorite candidate out of 65. WHY ARE WE NOT HEARING BACK???!!! [cries] [/rant]

obviously Stanford kept an entire potential class of admits on standby until after their ASW just in case there was a terrible accident (fire, something escaping from the biology lab) that claimed a large number of their incoming class while they were all gathered in one place. since I saw nothing on the news, I assume they all got through it safely meaning we will all be wait listed or denied soon enough.

Yikes. This seems kind of crazy.

And that's just 75 in the thread. There could be like 500+ files left without decisions.

that "+" probably represents at least 100-200 additional applicants.paperrev wrote:Ugh time for a rant. (I'm not number 79)
lets get to 79, the total number of students at S for c/o 2016 is 179!

This count was surprisingly enlightening. I feel much less special/hopeful about my chances, but also perversely thrilled that there are so many of us languishing in Faye's purgatory.

I know our count got pretty high, but i wouldn't be surprised if this was a seriously disproportionate share of those waiting (compared to the share of law school applicants on tls). After all, if you're waiting a long time, odds are you're going to try to figure out why, and it's not hard to come across tls when you google anything about law school admissions.

Fair point - hadn't thought about that. 79.Chalupa-Batman wrote:I know our count got pretty high, but i wouldn't be surprised if this was a seriously disproportionate share of those waiting (compared to the share of law school applicants on tls). TLS is definitely skewed towards stronger applicants, but I imagine that there are still probably hundreds of others waiting given the count so far year.

Though it's more likely for stronger applicants to still be alive at this point. But yeah, hundreds sounds about right.drawstring wrote:TLS is definitely skewed towards stronger applicants, but I imagine that there are still probably hundreds of others waiting given the count so far year.
