I just got an email on my phone and saw "congrats" and "Penn" only to find out that it was freakin Penn State stating that they are "committed to affirmative action." Haha

I literally just got on here to post that. I have a pop-up notifier for my Gmail and of course the first words I see in the email are "Congratulations" "Penn" and "Law". Stupid email.Legacy316 wrote:I just got an email on my phone and saw "congrats" and "Penn" only to find out that it was freakin Penn State stating that they are "committed to affirmative action." I got that e-mail and an e-mail from Cumberland, which I thought at first said Columbia. Add the status check update from USC that I thought might be a decision e-mail plus the total silence from Berkeley and I'm officially thankful for nothing this year. FML.

I think we've all got plenty to be thankful for, no matter how our cycles are going.roxj wrote:I got that e-mail and an e-mail from Cumberland, which I thought at first said Columbia. It is important to keep some perspective. We are very fortunate to even be in a position to apply to such fantastic schools. Millions of people have far greater problems than worrying about app cycles.

+1 million and 1. TLS can make you a little deranged sometimes if you're not careful. I think that the holiday might help the collective mental health of the posters here by offering a four-day stretch during which absolutely nothing can happen.nonprofit-prophet wrote:+1 millionprotokurios wrote:I think we've all got plenty to be thankful for, no matter how our cycles are going.roxj wrote:I got that e-mail and an e-mail from Cumberland, which I thought at first said Columbia. In the end, one's life amounts to as much or as little as one makes of it and the opportunities that it offers. Your admissions results don't guarantee you success and happiness for the rest of your life, nor do they doom you to perpetual failure and misery.
I admit that recent events make it easier for me to philosophize than some people, but I'm just trying to ease the pressure on everyone a bit.
