Hey guys - IN also! So excited because NYU has been my dream school since I started this process. Just got home and had a giant purpluish bluish envelope waiting for me. I dropped my groceries in shock because I wasn't expecting anything so early.

I live in Manhattan - all mail within the 5 boroughs arrives the next day, so they must have sent yesterday. So everyone else, be patient, for at least a few days...

I'm RD and submitted in late October, stats in profile.

CONGRATS to all the others, and the many soon to come.

Numbers, roughly? Other reasons why you are a lock for early admission and the rest of us should be patient?

The worst part is that I also live in NYC, but I have all my LS mail come to my parents' house in another state because I moved after applying and didn't want schools to get confused... ahhhhhhhhh

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the possibility. Kretzy said he submitted in late October, so I'd say you're in pretty good shape. I, for one, submitted in late Oct and didn't go complete until 11/25.

Haha, you're right, I'm not. I'd probably attend Boalt/UVA/Mich over NYU anyway, so it doesn't really matter

I did pretty much everything I could to show them I really, really wanted to go there (attended info session and class, wrote a 1 page Why NYU about how I want to stay in NY), and I'm strongly PI oriented, but honestly I'm guessing any response this quickly probably just had to do with the numbers.

I'm sure there's a bunch more on the way...and I don't think you have any reason to worry with your #'s.

Sometimes, when it is raining, I just don't get mail. I guess that whole, rain sleet snow whatever thing doesn't apply to my mailman? Anyway, I used to think it was sort of a charming quirk, like a funny thing to tell people and all laugh about.

Woooo exciting. I applied to NYU Sept. 8 but wasn't complete until November 18. I would love a decision but I doubt it because every school seems to be ignoring me so I'm sure NYU will also lol
