Re: Harvard Law c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018)
If what spivey tweeted is true, then it wouldn't make sense to retake the GRE if you have already taken the LSAT, since he claims "If the student took the LSAT, there is no GRE reported".appind wrote:anyone considering gre retake? If so what's the collective wisdom is about the threshold scores at which one should retake?
So for this cycle, it sounds like no matter how good your GRE, your lsat will decide your app.
However, it IS worth retaking the GRE if you do not have an LSAT yet.
I think the following strategy is the optimal current strategy for a future applicant with no scores yet:
1. Take the GRE first. Due to its flexibility and alleged ease, it should be less of a burden to get a good score on it. In terms of what score you need, it's not exactly clear since we don't know whether schools will consider each individual section or a combined score, but I would shoot for at least a combined 335/340 since it appears someone in this thread got a JS1 with those numbers.
2. If you just can't do well on the GRE, consider taking the LSAT next. Since the LSAT overrides any GRE score on file, it makes sense to save this for last. Additionally, since HLS claims to view a GRE equal to an LSAT (meaning they have no preference for either test), there is no real need to take the LSAT unless it's a last resort.

Submitted application on Halloween, still "received" and not "complete." Is this cause for concern? AFAIK, everything's in.

Anyone know the approximate time they take to respond to email questions for applicants? I emailed them on Wednesday asking a question about one of the components of my application (NOT about the GRE), and I've heard nothing back yet.

I went complete 10/24 and no interview request. Does this mean SOL?

Not at all. Last year, some people who submitted in September weren't called for an interview until March.DistrictDisaster wrote:I went complete 10/24 and no interview request. Does this mean SOL?

Thanks for the kindness. Fingers crossed! Pretty much kicking myself as hard as I can these days for not getting everything in sooner after grey day.principalagent wrote:Not at all. checking in. going to be active and not just stalk TLS this cycle. [i posted this in my 7 favorite threads. can i do that?]
not sure how this works but here goes:
GPA: 3.6 [blah state school. easy major - psyc]
LSAC GPA: 3.56
LSAT take one 163: [sat for it cold, no prep. so essentially a "diagnostic" only not ... because it was the actual LSAT]
LSAT take two 178: [almost cancelled]
URM: AfAm Female
softs: somewhere between nonexistent and unimpressive

I did... I didn't think it went all that well, to be honest. It didn't go that badly either but would have liked to come off feeling like I really did well. How did it go for you?lobsicle wrote:Anyone have their interview today?

Keep your head up. These kind of things often feel like they went worse than they really did.FriedChickenHero wrote:I did... I didn't think it went all that well, to be honest.
