Also wondering this and don't think YP is a likely reason given my stats: GPA>25, 75<LSATml2srosie wrote:Does everyone who applies get invited to an interview? Or should an interview invite be taken as a "good sign"?

They also seem to offer it to people they like, but who have more borderline numbers. There's no hard and fast rule at GULC with regards to interviews, but typically it's either a YP move or wanting to get to know a more borderline candidate.fountainja wrote:Also wondering this and don't think YP is a likely reason given my stats: GPA>25, 75<LSATml2srosie wrote:Does everyone who applies get invited to an interview? Applied ED last week of September. Status checker went from "Application Complete" to entirely blank today -- anyone seen anything like this?

Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Hello all,
I was very interested in Georgetown and applied ED because it was by far my #1 choice.
However, today I received a letter telling me that my decision has been deferred, and I will be lumped in with the RD applicants.
I assume this means I have almost a 0% chance of being accepted now, since ED is supposed to be easier, right?
Can anyone give me some advice please? Has this happened to anyone else?
Thank you,
Kublakhan

Deferred just means not good enough to be accepted for sure, not bad enough to be rejected for sure. You're in the borderline region where they'd have to see how you compare to entire applicant pool to make a final decision.

Deferred to the regular decision pool, with decision by 28 Feb. Drat. I remain hopeful.

Does anyone know how long it takes deferred ED applicants to get their final decision? Does anyone know what happened last year?

For those that applied ED and heard back already - the decision got mailed to you or was it through e-mail?

In! Letter received in the mail today. West coast, was dated for 10/24. Dean Cornblatt left a very nice personal note complimenting my personal statement. Super excited, Georgetown is a top choice for me.

Thanks guys!
Not sure about scholarship info, but yeah, that's definitely going to be a huge factor for me here too.

I know it's part of the deal to freak out about the status checker, but the e-mail I got from Georgetown acknowledging my application said this:
"Once an application is complete, the file becomes eligible for review. Once the status check page indicates that an application is complete, it will not update again, even once a decision is made."
So stop worrying about the status checker once you've gone complete.

A fair thought, and I think a lot of us on TLS are overly neurotic. To be fair, though, based on last year's thread, things like a box popping up under requirements asking you to turn in your final transcript if you're a K-JD student were, in fact, indicators of an acceptance. The small details, like "complete" vs. "completed" are meaningless, though, like you said.mp68 wrote:I know it's part of the deal to freak out about the status checker, but the e-mail I got from Georgetown acknowledging my application said this:

In with letter dated 10/24. Reporting from Seattle. Do we know if GULC gives travel stipends to come visit?

Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
PDX is right. And to add another layer, those boxes popped up on my GULC Status Checker after I was accepted, even though I am not a K-JD. They have since disappeared. Could have been just a mistake, or could be that those show up (if just briefly) for everyone who is accepted. So definitely something to keep an eye out for.PDX4343 wrote:A fair thought, and I think a lot of us on TLS are overly neurotic.
