I was out of town since last thursday and just came home to see my BU acceptance packet waiting in the mail!
The personalized note from the dean was a super nice touch. I'm really digging them and can't wait for scholarship info to come out Jan-Feb!

Re: Boston University C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
So I applied RD ~10/18ish and I previously had application complete and the message at the top was the thing about "ED will hear by 12/21 and a variety of RD applications will hear early December for a variety of reasons, etc. but many will hear later in the season" and it just changed to:
"Your application to The Boston University School of Law is complete and ready for review. We will notify you of the Admissions Committee’s decision as soon as it has been reached. While some applicants may hear sooner, a general timeline all applicants can follow is that those who complete their applications by February 1 will most likely receive a decision by early April. Let us assure you that we do our very best to provide decisions as early as the process will allow."
Any ideas from those who have a decision already?
And does BU do "Under Review" on the status checker?

No UR for status checker...it just stays complete, unfortuantely.fazzvm56 wrote:So I applied RD ~10/18ish and I previously had application complete and the message at the top was the thing about "ED will hear by 12/21 and a variety of RD applications will hear early December for a variety of reasons, etc. but many will hear later in the season" and it just changed to:

This change happened for a lot of us. There is some speculation that it indicates that you're UR but no real proof of that. You may be the Guinea Pig...we'll see if you get a decision soon-ish.

I'm in the same boat. I applied right around the same time and also have a different message. I'm not sure when it changed though. Hopefully this means we're under review.fazzvm56 wrote:So I applied RD ~10/18ish and I previously had application complete and the message at the top was the thing about "ED will hear by 12/21 and a variety of RD applications will hear early December for a variety of reasons, etc. but many will hear later in the season" and it just changed to:

I don't know why it would change if we weren't. Fingers crossed! I usually check my status checkers everyday (sometimes compulsively every few hours) and checked it this morning when it had the old message and then just checked it when I saw it changed.flightline87 wrote:I'm in the same boat. I don't believe my message ever said the ED thing, just the complete and ready for review thing. I haven't gotten my decision yet but I applied a couple weeks ago.fazzvm56 wrote:I don't know why it would change if we weren't. Fingers crossed! Just checked and saw you can get reimbursed for $300 for the ASW; glad to hear it as that'll at least cover the flight from KC there. Planning on the 24th.

Luckily, it's for all. (Provided you're far away)brinicolec wrote:Is that reimbursement only if you choose to attend BU?Dodocogon wrote:Just checked and saw you can get reimbursed for $300 for the ASW; glad to hear it as that'll at least cover the flight from KC there. Planning on the 23rd.

Exact language:
Boston University School of Law’s travel stipend program will reimburse up to $300 for transportation and lodging costs incurred to attend a scheduled Preview Day. The program is for those Preview Day attendees traveling over 300 miles, one way, and can only be applied toward travel, not food. You must stay for the entire event, sign out at the completion, and submit your receipts within two weeks in order to be eligible for reimbursement. Please note that the number of stipends is limited. To request a travel stipend, please register for a Preview Day and email bulawadm@bu.edu with your request and expected travel expenses.

Welp, I'm about 2000 miles away so... Lol. That's nice to know. Still waiting on a decision but if I'm accepted, I'd definitely love to check it out. Planning in the 24th too. Guys we should all go on the same day and wear name tags with our TLS names on them for easy identification.
