Not a brewery, but Tall Paul's has a great selection of craft and local beer. Definitely recommend stopping by that bar, as it is closer to the levin college of law than Swamphead.Harry_Pluxen wrote:Anyone have recommendations? lol. I really like First Magnitude Brewery. It has a great outdoor space and large selection. Otherwise, I like the Downtown bars/ restaurants like "The Top."

Paul would be said to see this. Tall Paul's is certainly a brewery as well as a bar. It may not be laid out like one, but he brews his own brand.GatorPhilosopher wrote: Not a brewery, but Tall Paul's has a great selection of craft and local beer. Top is delicious, but not cheap and the wait can get pretty excessive since they don't do RSVPs.Roberrrrto wrote:I really like First Magnitude Brewery. It has a great outdoor space and large selection. Otherwise, I like the Downtown bars/ restaurants like "The Top."

Staying with a cousin that goes to the vet school at UF. Did you try the Red Roof Inn off Archer? It's no Ritz, but it's only a short drive to campus for a very reasonable rate.Harry_Pluxen wrote:What hotel is everyone staying at? Everything is booked for the March 18th ASD.

Hi Everyone! I am new to the group.. my application was just put on 'hold' status yesterday. Hoping I'm in the next round of decisions and that they are coming soon!
I went to undergrad at UF, so if anyone has questions about the Gainesville area, please feel free to ask!

I have my application on the "Hold" status since November 24th...urgh. The 3 months wait is killing me, here's hoping I gets a decision one way or another by the end of March. The admissions lady I called told me that worst case scenario is by early April for those who submitted before the new year.

For those curious about housing- I toured Cazabella and The Bartram yesterday. Cazabella was just fine and Bartram was expensive and gorgeous. So much nicer. I realized that it is slightly cheaper to have a roommate and split a 2/2 at Bartram(800/month) than to rent a 1/1 at Cazabella(895/month). If anyone wants to meet up at ASD and possibly live together at Bartram, let me know.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the brewery afterward. I need to leave shortly after to lunch to make it to Jacksonville on time for a wedding. Looking forward to meeting some of y'all though.

Can any current students speak about the tax LLM at UF law?

Damn, no response. I have a good friend who got his LLM in Taxation at UF. He said unless you're sitting in your first tax class, and you LOVE IT, to the point of thinking about it when you're not in class, don't get the LLM. He said if you don't absolutely love tax during your first tax class you will be absolutely miserable during the LLM. YMMVHarry_Pluxen wrote:Can any current students speak about the tax LLM at UF law?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
