Phone interview?

Visited this past Friday. A few quick thoughts:
Met with Dean Staudt; she's very pleasant.
The SBA president Audrie is wonderful. If you ever run into her take a minute to say hello.
They're really, really proud of their clinical/externship opportunities.
Admissions Dean Scannell is a pretty straight shooter. Got to sit down with her for a few minutes and she definitely did not mince words.
Overall, definitely a great visit with a lot of valuable information. Lots to consider going forward. If you guys have any questions, please feel free to ask!

What sorts of things did you discuss with Dean Scannell?

Just a quick hello. I've gotten a substantial scholarship offer from them, so it was a lot of putting a face to the name but also discussing the possibility of further awards.

That's the best kind of conversation! Did you learn anything surprising (either good or bad) from your visit that you hadn't already been aware of? (At least somewhat)

In general, not a lot was said that you can't find on the internet. Apparently if you apply ED they give you full tuition (I didn't know that).
Overall, it was a good visit, but I can't say that I'm ready to pack my bags to St. Louis immediately.

Question: I applied Early Decision a couple days ago I received an offer to interview today. Would they have rolled me over to regular admission before an interview if they weren't considering me for the Early Decision Full Tuition package? Basically, does this mean they are considering me for the ED full tuition scholarship?

To my understanding, if you are being considered for admittance and you applied ED, then you're being considered for the ED full tuition scholly by default. They wouldn't kick you out of that applicant pool for no reason.

So if I have the interview, might I get sent to general admission afterwards? Or will it be either ED full tuition or nothing?

You're in good shape but they could roll you to regular decision. They did that to some people last year for sure.

Correct. If you get in under the ED program, then you've got $$$$. If not, you may still get in as they can then kick you over to RD. But you'll be considered for ED first.

How long after admit letter have scholarship offers been going out lately? Towards the beginning of the cycle it seemed like it was pretty immediate... Have things slowed down?
Hoping it's not just me....../

That invitation email to chat with the Christian legal society president and the OUTlaw co-presidents, though...
It's all about the juxtaposition.

I had the same experience. I would much rather interview in person than over the phone - to me, the phone is always awkward. I think my interviewer made a similar comment, and I thought I had totally screwed up. But I was admitted a few days later, so things are probably not as bad as they seem.

I submitted a while ago, but one of my recs was finally just submitted last week. I went under review before the rec was in...but I haven't heard anything yet. Is it worth emailing admissions and letting them know my other rec is now in? I know washu has a really quick turn around, so I'm being impatient.

The lack of chemistry reason is another vote for skype over phone I would think... right?
My skype interview was great, we had a great conversation and a good back and forth.
Also +1 on the WHERE ARE THE SCHOLARSHIP EMAILS

Only posting to ease peoples fears, it took 2weeks from the interview for my D's acceptance this cycle....surprisingly no scholarship email.

If you look at LSN, no one with a score under 168 has received scholly info yet - even if they applied on day one (which I did). I would think with Oct scores being out, the new crop of 168+'s should begin receiving information any time now. The rest of us will just have to wait. I think last year, it wasn't until January (after Dec scores were out, maybe?) that below median LSAT applicants got $$ info.

Just got my $$$ offer - not too shabby, WUSTL at such a discount will be a real contender when it comes to making my final decision...
What's the consensus on "Scholar in Law"? Is that just what they call all the merit scholarships?

Yeah, they're all called "Scholar in Law."
Congrats!
thanks
Also - do we think a WUSTL scholarship can be leveraged against the lower t14 (NW/GULC) to get $$?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
