did they mention if they'll come through CRS, or just say nope, no solicited waivers?
Columbia wrote:Thank you for your interest in Columbia Law School. For equity reasons, Columbia, itself, does not process requests for fee waivers. Rather, Columbia utilizes the application for determining eligibility for fee waivers directly through Law School Admission Council's mechanism. Once eligibility has been established and approved by LSAC, candidates will automatically receive a fee waiver for Columbia Law School upon submitting an application for admission. For additional details about fee waivers, kindly visit http://www.lsac.org/jd/lsat/fee-waivers.

Checking in as an applicant, going to submit tonight after class. :) Anyone applying to CLS who wants to go into PI? Sorry I've only skimmed half the thread thus far.

Do we think the answers won't be until late January like in past cycles? I feel like that's so late given the fact that other T14s have already been giving out answers.

Triple! The opportunities living in NYC are very appealing, even if the cost of living is not.
This made me wonder - are they any boy PI'ers other than Whacka?

I'm interested in PI! Though I'll probably go into a big firm for at least a couple years first. That's a great question barley. I don't think so? But not sure. I feel like gobears might? I just get the PI vibe from him.
Isn't the gender disparity interesting? It's a similar situation for social workers, who are also paid so little. (Like Hildy, I will also probably go into a big firm for at least a couple years first as well. Financial independence is something I really, really value.)

Wow! Way more than I would have expected. The PI opportunities in NY are enormous...but so are the biglaw ones so I was definitely curious, especially given that Columbia seems less oriented in that way. Thanks for the responses! Definitely makes me feel better about my decision to apply.

I think I read a post by a current Columbia student (this was a while ago - not sure who or in what thread) who said that Columbia doesn't have a big PI focus/good system in place, but they do want to improve in that area. Which is mostly manifested by throwing dinero at PI student groups, but hopefully they'll keep bolstering it in other areas as well.
