definitely, if you have the means and opportunity to do so that is the best route.fips tedora wrote:Hence why on-campus is the best option, in terms of impact and allotted time to answer questions.Petrichor wrote:
the questions weren't particularly brutal I think the time you have to respond is pretty constrictive and you don't have the option of saying something like "let me think about that for a moment" since the clock is ticking.

I'm signed up for one, and I would expect that the questions are roughly the same across the board.Petrichor wrote:definitely, if you have the means and opportunity to do so that is the best route.fips tedora wrote:Hence why on-campus is the best option, in terms of impact and allotted time to answer questions.Petrichor wrote:

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants
ouch, yeah i had 1 or 2 like that as well but i just justified it by saying how this experience was somewhat similar and what i've learned. not sure if that worked or if i came out sounding mental hahaHildegard15 wrote:I got a question that didn't fit in at all with my work experience. It asked about a time when I had to analyze a data set to come to a solution. I don't work with data now, and I didn't in college either. I talked about my senior thesis, but that was a comparative literature piece. That's what I didn't like about it. The questions didn't allow for a possibility of different experiences. And yes, the lack of time, ick.Petrichor wrote:the questions weren't particularly brutal I think the time you have to respond is pretty constrictive and you don't have the option of saying something like "let me think about that for a moment" since the clock is ticking.Hildegard15 wrote:Well, you shouldn't take everything I say seriously. I am given to hyperbole. Though I wasn't lying when I said I hated the online interview.zty wrote:

So I chose to have an off-campus interview in a city 777 miles from where I live.
Of course, another reason is that I want to meet someone who has been there.

Yes, but I am outside U.S.fips tedora wrote:I feel like the best option is the on-campus. While the off-campus is probably less stressful than the online, it may not have the same impact as online or on-campus, whereas on-campus affords more time to answer questions than online.

I know I won't be able to say a single word seeing the clock ticking. I'd rather choose not to interview if online was the only option.

Hi guys,
Checking-in, early decision applicant, doing the online interview soon.
What kind of questions could I expect from the interview?

I had an off campus interview with a local alumni on Friday. It was really low-key and he really only asked about my work experience and why I want Northwestern. Then he talked a lot about his experiences. We had a lot in common and it was my favorite interview of the three I've done.

the c/o 2018 thread is more helpful cuz a lot of the stuff in the "ask" thread is pretty old. I am interested in finding out what the experience this year is like because people seem to be stressing a lot more with the online interviews than in the past.

Getting ready for my interview today has gotten my hype into high gear...
...how long have people been waiting between interviews and notification? Hating the waiting.

Re: Northwestern c/o 2019 Applicants
Just had my alum interview and it went great! I live overseas, so I was pleasantly surprised that an alum interview was even an option - and to top it off, beyond the standard ex-pat bond that we immediately formed, the interviewer is working pretty much in my dream job, and he was very excited to tell me about his career and how he got there - at the end of the interview he flat out told me northwestern would be lucky to have me, and told me to be in touch further along the process and that he'd be happy to talk to me about my options and career plan etc. overall great experience - really glad I opted it to do the video option.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
