Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
I'm ED as well. UR1 was 12/2 for me and my UR2 was today. I'm hoping against the odds that good news is in store, but I don't think I will get an interview before decisions are made.

Is the general consensus that interviews are required for admission except for those who get admitted off the waitlist?

We covered this one a bit earlier. All signs are that an interview is required for straight admission. WL admits sometimes come without the interview.Raekwon wrote:Is the general consensus that interviews are required for admission except for those who get admitted off the waitlist?

ED decisions may come tomorrow- last year they came out one business day after everyone had a date change. In 2011 and 2012 they came out on the 20th.

I would be careful cursing the name of the adcomm office. They read this. But then again I got in so maybe it doesn't matter.cc78 wrote:james.bungles wrote:ThisFloridaCoastalorbust wrote:decisions in fuckin january
+10,000. I'm running out of ways to occupy my law school thirst while I'm waiting to hear from schools.

Way to kill the vibe, Mal. : )
But you raise a good question: If an adcom were to personally identify you (assuming they have the time that it would take to do so), would you feel that you made a mistake in posting on this forum in the first place?
Personally, I've always felt that admissions offices likely enjoy the attention and excitement that threads like this can build; as long as the discussions are productive and avoid libel, cursing, or excessive trolling (e.g. reporting false decisions), much of what we're doing is demonstrating how excited we are to be in the running for a class-A school like Chicago.
Thanks for pointing out the recent status changes, guys. I hope we all hear some positive feedback soon!

You think they make a decision about an applicant based on this, though? I mean if the applicant is posting clear warning signs (like he's going to be an murder) then maybe, but I got the sense they just read it to see what's being said about their school and where their admits are planning on going.Mal Reynolds wrote: I would be careful cursing the name of the adcomm office. I dunno what they make their decisions on. But I wouldn't want my name linking back to a post saying "Decisions in fucking january EYEROLL" Best to wait until you are accepted to tarnish your online reputation.imKMart wrote:You think they make a decision about an applicant based on this, though? Had a date change too. First one since my interview in October, maybe a pre-Christmas RD wave???psychmusic wrote:Changed UR date today, but I'm not sure how many changes I've had in total. Last one was 11/5, which was actually before my interview.

This thread is not the place to question the wisdom of the decision to apply ED, but I can't deny that I'm as puzzled as jimmy bunghole is in this case.james.bungles wrote:Literally why.
