DLS and no checklist . Above 75th GPA and at median for LSAT. Hope this DLS means good news!

Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
I think it's safe to say, looking at many of the applicants without a checklist, that the checklist means absolutely nothing. There is no way they're rejecting/waitlisting a bunch of people above both medians on the first day.
Try not to worry guys, I think we'll all be fine.

DLS and no checklist...
BTW, does any one know how applicants in foreign countries would be notified?
Phone call? Email like other schools? Or we wouldn't know their decision until the snail mail arrive?

To answer my own question, I went to dig through NYU's thread last year. It seems that they send decision emails to international applicants.jawsjawsjaws wrote:I'd like to know as wellnyanyanya wrote:DLS and no checklist...

Decision Letter Sent! LSAT 75-50%, GPA 25%, non urm, no why NYU. No chart either. So all this has done is multiply my anxiety - either I beat the odds or they said lolwutno.

Just wondering, for those of us who haven't DLS'd, when should we give up hope? Applied September 15th, under review since October 15th, and my finger is tired of hitting refresh...

That I don't know. In last year's thread, I saw most people got the phone call/email on the day they saw DLS. Apparently, that is not the case this year.jawsjawsjaws wrote: So they will email us sometime this week?

yep - phone calls and emails (for international students only) began to roll out on the day DLS was first seen last year.nyanyanya wrote:That I don't know. Complete - 10/22
UR1 - 10/23
DLS - 12/1
No Checklist
GPA>75th; 25th<LSAT<75th
Has anyone that didn't have a checklist yesterday seen one appear since? Also, I still wasn't able to log onto the ASW this morning, which I'm hoping is still the case for everyone.
Fingers crossed that we get some more info today!

Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
This year's cycle is on the same timeline as last year's cycle since the first DLS came out the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Last year, the first rejected applications were reported Dec. 11th, all DLS before that were accepted...
likewise, for all previous years the first DLS were accepted
Just trying to relieve stress for DLS' yesterday, and hoping for some more for everyone else today!

Why is NYU's acceptance rate (31.4%) so much higher than it's peer schools? I know they have a large enrollment (1,418), but 31.4% still seems high. Does NYU generally receive less applications than its peer schools?

Re: NYU c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
I don't think it's less applications (although I'm sure that information would be easy to find via 509s, but I'd assume a lot of their applicants would choose HYSCC - so their yield would be lower.smile0751 wrote:Why is NYU's acceptance rate (31.4%) so much higher than it's peer schools? I'd expect an e-mail sometime this week. Later on in the cycle, I know they do send physical mail to international accepted students as well (may depend on region or where you live) - the infamous purple pizza box.nyanyanya wrote:That I don't know. Me too. Pro-tip, you do need the L in your LSAC ID.

Also, still no checklist on my status checker, so that's official confirmation that it means nothing.
