There was at least one person who did it last year and got dinged, but they admitted to half-assing it.

yeah the YP tactic definitely worked on me. I just can't see any situation where I'd end up at UT (even though I love the school) after getting the Dillard

In via phone call from Dean Ingram! Submitted the Why UT response yesterday, so there's a very quick turnaround once that is sent in. Out of state, RD. PM for numbers.

Congrats, that's how it was last year for OOS people. Pretty much submit a not half-assed Why UT and get in the next day.

Mine did the same thing last year - the status page went to "Admission was granted on..." almost immediately after the call came.

My status checker didn't change until a few days after I was accepted, so don't rely on it to do much (or freak out if it isn't doing anything).

In via phone earlier today. Out of state, 173 & 3.92. I didn't do any "Why Texas" email thing & my status checker still says under review :) Congrats to others who got accepted & good luck to everyone still waiting!

OOS but accepted 11/24 (monday) via voice mail!

I thought I was for sure dinged since I was OOS and didn't write a "Why Texas." Very happy with this development!
