So, it looks like JS1s went out last year at about 4:15 pm. It also was on the 16th page of the Harvard applicants forum...
This is totally something...

Nothing on the Atlantic side either. Although it would be pretty optimistic of me to think that a JS1 will come my way at any point in the cycle anyway. East Coast gunners where you at?LSATneurotic wrote:All quiet on the western front...

Just FYI... The LSAC NYforum is today and tomorrow... Assuming that May have something to do with the lack of JS1s...

Why? Is Harvard at that one? They are not at the one in Houston on Monday.

I went to the NYC LSAC forum today, and Harvard wasn't there. FYI, for posters who regularly read this site, a forum like what I went to was 92% useless. You aren't going to make an impression with anyone, and you just walk away with the same information you can get (better) here.

R.E. LSAC forums I actually called HLS Admissions a couple weeks ago to confirm which forums (fora?) they're attending - turns out they're only doing the Boston one, plus their own info days which you can register for on the website.
Seriously considering actually heading up to Boston for it although it might look stalker-keen.

After a few weeks of odd things happening with apps for me, I've officially convinced myself that everything I sent was riddled with offensive typos and I'm an auto-ding everwhere
I'm sure that didn't happen! Even though HLS is a total reach for me, I'm still holding out hope for a JS1 and I feel as though the requests will go out today...

I'm sure everything is fine with your app, psych
I bet you'll get a JS1 today!

Theory: Could HLS be waiting to send out JS1s until Sep. LSAT scores are sent??? o_0

I doubt it. People whose Sep. LSAT scores are coming out now won't be able to submit applications until tomorrow, and it wouldn't go complete until next week.matlan72 wrote:Theory: Could HLS be waiting to send out JS1s until Sep. LSAT scores are sent??? o_0

Don't worry, guys. I'm going to attend one of HLS's upcoming recruiting events, and I am going to demand that they start issuing JS1s.

psychmusic wrote:Okay so I'm indulging in my obsessiveness for a minute here. I looked through some numbers for JS1 from last years spreadsheet-
It looks like the first real JS1 wave lasted 4 days from 10/15 to 10/19. Then 5 days off from invites, but they were then essentially continuous 10/24 until 3/11
In terms of being invited in the first wave- it looks like your chances of admission are phenomenally good- every single person in that initial wave of invites on TLS last year reported an acceptance on 11/25 or 11/26 (granted the average numbers for those people was 174/3.87 so their chances were phenomenally good anyway). Their numbers ranged from 162-180 and from 3.58-4.0.
What makes me feel a bit better is that some people who submitted Day 1 and reported only having gotten a JS1 invite 11/5 were still ultimately accepted in the first JS2 wave. In other words, while the odds of a JS2 seem much better for those in the first wave, some very early submitters were nonetheless accepted after having waited a few weeks longer for their JS1 invite.
The moral of the story (and I'm probably telling myself this more than I'm telling anyone else) is that there's no need to start panicking once the JS1s do start rolling in. The trickle in over a few days, and a bit of extra waiting does not equal a ding.
Sounds good to me... anything to alleviate my anxiety even the slightest bit is a good thing...
