Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
Thanks for this. While I haven't posted until now, I've been holding onto hope to squeeze onto the tail end of admissions. There are a lot of personal and professional reasons why NYU is a better place for me than where I have tentatively accepted at home (UCLA), so I have my fingers (and toes) crossed at the eleventh hour. The waitlist has been frustrating for me as UCLA called within 7 days of me originally submitting my application through LSAC, but NYU waited for three months to waitlist me and there I have been hanging. Though I know they're more than a few spots apart, NYU was my only not-astronomical-odds-school (as compared to Stanford and Columbia) to throw me in purgatory. Clearly, whatever made UCLA's dean rush to the phone did not sway them the same way, something I've tried to figure out the cause of.Called today and was told they are not done. Hopefully the last of us will get some good news! I know it would be a game changer for me.

I have already accepted another offer at a t-10 school, but I want NYU. I'd rather be admitted now instead of attempting to transfer...

Well I just fired off my last LOCI, which was professional but fairly sincere about my overwhelming desire to attend NYU.
Time to let the chips fall where they may. Good luck everyone!

Called this morning. They did make an offer. They also have not sent out the denial list. Keeping everyone waiting this probably orientation. They would not say how many remain on the waitlist either.

Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
So, I submitted a "Why NYU" statement with my application and a LOCI a couple of weeks after being wait-listed. At this point, is there any point to submitting another LOCI? And if so, what would I say? I have no new information/WE to add. Or would I be better off just sending a short e-mail reminding them that I'm still interested?

I got a last minute acceptance through a phone call this morning. I got the "feeler" call and tr official call an hour later. I was on the way to the airport to fly to New York! Timing feels serendipitous!

Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
nothing on my end so far in either direction, status checker still says "confirmed on waitlist".bincognito wrote:Rejections yet?
however, as orientation starts tomorrow morning, I'm guessing that if that is NYU's actual deadline for admissions they will probably send out rejections within a few days of the beginning of orientation. I'd assume it's not entirely unheard of for other people to get last-minute admits and run off right before orientation, so I'm guessing they'll rapidly fill those last few orientation-absentee seats and let the no's know.

Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
It has not. There was some issue, but I emailed LSAC. They said they replicated the issue, but NYU could not. The tech sent me the following link: https://aces2.lsac.org/YourStatus/membership/logon.aspx which did not work when I visited it, giving me the same error message. I then went back to NYU law's site and from the main page navigated to the JD admissions page and then status checker, and somehow it magically worked again. Despite having a CS degree, I can't exactly say why this worked. I didn't clear my cookies/cache or anything as far as I know, but try that too.bincognito wrote:Sorry-How are you getting to the status checker? Re: NYU Waitlist 2017
Just got this as well. Status in status checker is still "Applicant confirmed on waitlist", but under the "Mailings" section on the left, it now includes "Decision Notification Email" with today's date.fatalelement wrote:Just got the no email about 10 minutes ago, I'm assuming it was a mass email
