I'm having a hard time believing Johan's tweet. No one last year from my research went from Hold --> deny. I just think we are all WL
(Now watch me be denied.)

Yeah same here, the pattern this cycle is mirroring last cycle almost perfectly (a couple acceptances first week of May followed by another wave of A/WL second week), but it's also possible people who were denied after such a long hold just didn't post on last year's thread or LSN.leigh912198972 wrote:I'm having a hard time believing Johan's tweet. LSAC won't let them force anyone to back out of a waitlist, only other acceptances.SowhatsNU wrote:So wait, if schools make you withdraw your candidacy from other schools with the second deposit, how could anyone ride the waitlist at a different school?
I just thought if a school takes you off their waitlist you lose the deposit to the first school and that's it, but if you have to withdraw your candidacy how can that be the case?

Northwestern, why you gotta be like that? I did all four essays. I did the initial interview with an alumni. I even took work off and dished out $500 to fly to Chicago for the 2nd interview.

Being held by Northwestern is kind of like being in an emotionally abusive relationship. You keep doing things for the other person that they never reciprocate, there is a lopsided amount of investment in the relationship, and even though you know there are people who will treat you better (Cornell? Georgetown? GWU?) you just can't let go.

All of this plus 2 LOCI's and a Rec Let. Low numbers, I had to give it my all. *collapsed on the ground*britrf wrote:ManoftheHour wrote:Northwestern, why you gotta be like that? I have LITERALLY said this before. It's hilarious- and sad- because it's so true. Do you think we want them more because they could care less about us?britrf wrote:+1ManoftheHour wrote:Northwestern, why you gotta be like that? I did all four essays. I'm not going to get too excited about today because I'm pretty confident I'll be waitlisted and thus not actually given any decision, but I wonder if they'll wait until the typical 2-5 pm CST to send it out...
Also, it may have been answered before but because we're held, how do we look up our decisions? Same way as before (status checker and DLDS) or only via email?
