Well I can't seem to find it in my email but I believe it actually is April 1. I will wait to accept until I have heard about PIPS though. I also just submitted a last minute application to Seton Hall, so I am in no state to make a decision in the next week and a half.amja107 wrote:Wbrem I feel a bit stalker like. And I think this forum along with LSN were created for stalking

They sent an email.amja107 wrote:Anything apart from PIPs would be virtually nothing coming from AU. How did you find out that you got rejected for need-based aid?? I haven't heard anything about this, not even a notification that they received the form as I did from other schools.jayessbee wrote:I applied for the need based grants and got a no. Same for PIPS. Nothing else yet. The only thing keeping me from withdrawing is curiosity at what, if anything, they would offer.amja107 wrote:+1.Nuj wrote:Got accepted, no clue how to see how much money I got. Has anyone who received acceptance late Feb. received FAFSA/scholly info.

Just received financial aid notice with instructions. Upon following the instructions I am unable to see the award letter- is anyone else having this issue?

Yes, I waited 15 minutes then tried again. Now I can see it. Shows merit scholarship, need based grant, and federal loan amount.Smer45 wrote:Admitted 3/7 and just got an email telling me my award was available online but I can't seem to access it. Anyone else having this problem?

Got notification that they upped my merit scholarship from 5,000 to 10,000 and got grants for 16,000, was really excited about that 26,000 until I remembered the total cost of attendance is around 70,000...yikes. Good luck to you guys with aid!!

Offered $15k/yr a few days ago. Was accepted last fall. Not a bad offer, but not enough for me.

Re: American University- WCL c/o 2017 Applicants
I applied ED and got in with a 3.0 gpa and 158 LSAT. I applied in October, pretty much as soon as the LSAT scores were available and was notified right before Thanksgiving. I've also received a $10,000 scholarship offer. I realize that the USNWR scores have dropped considerably which makes me sad. However, applying ED to American wasn't on a whim nor was it something I did without extensive research. I did my MA in International Relations and have never wanted to go into big law always international or PI. I know people will say I'm being stupid to go to American and I guess only time will tell. I hope, however, that there are those who have attended or are currently attending that have something positive to say about the school? If so it'd be great to hear those thoughts. Also, I'm currently starting the daunting search for housing so if there are any tips on that as well, I'd really appreciate it.

I do not know if I would have ED'd...but there is nothing wrong with your decision as long as you know you have a high hill to climb to get there.

I am not a current student (yet) but I work for a Federal Court, and two of our Law Clerks are recent graduates of American. They both have nothing but great things to say about American and one of them was just offered a position with DOJ. Hope that helps!!I hope, however, that there are those who have attended or are currently attending that have something positive to say about the school?
