I imagine they added spots by making themselves more available, nothing in that sentence makes me think imminent dings for anyone.Regulus wrote:I wonder what it means if you were an ED in the first round of interviews vs an ED in one of the later rounds...reallysearch wrote:On the UChicagoLawAdmission twitter
7 hours ago...Interview invitations for the next round of ED applicants just went out. We've added some additional interview spots next week.
Anyone got that?

EDIT: To "add some additional interview spots" that they didn't originally have means that they've probably had some "openings" (in other words, they know who they are going to ding from the first round of interviews to "make space"). Yikes!

Then I'm sure you know that if they follow the same pattern as previous cycles, probably early January. But yes, I suppose having the interviews could change things a bit.

It'd be extremely helpful if those of you who were in the 2nd wave of interview invites contributed to the spreadsheet as well.

It's alright, I'm complete at 10/12.haveahat wrote:Still sitting at complete from 10/31... Hope my file isn't gathering too much dust there
I have no idea what that means. Do we have to be "under review" to get a decision? It seems like an awfully long time to simply get under review...

I'm in a similar situation. I've simply accepted the fact that my application was probably used as a napkin at some point in the last month and a half and will never be seen again.Cherries2013 wrote:It's alright, I'm complete at 10/12.haveahat wrote:Still sitting at complete from 10/31... Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Just had my interview. I agree with previous posts: standard "law school interview" questions. 22 minutes total. Mine was a little more "formal" than the previous posters it seems, but not intense by any means.
In the instructions sent out the night before the interview, it says not to save the video or audio file of the interview, so I'm assuming they don't want their Qs leaked, so I won't get into specifics. But I will say that it seems like they try to pack more questions in, so they're stylistically more similar to Northwestern than Harvard... I haven't really interviewed anywhere else, so that's all I can go on.
I think I did OK. Was maybe a little too succinct on the "Why Chicago" question
Hopefully that doesn't come back to haunt me...

How do people feel on the tie/no tie question? I'm afraid to say I actually don't know how to tie a tie yet, so I'm just wondering if I need to teach myself in the next couple days or if the collared shirt/no jacket or tie look is acceptable.

Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
My only consolation is that the three people who have complete dates after 10/1 were either ED or URM. Guess me and my bland RD self will be anxious for awhileMr. Elshal wrote:I'm in a similar situation. Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I would go smart business, meaning no need for suit and tie if you don't want. If you want to wear a tie, that's fine. But a nice button down, sweater, etc. will be just fine. If it were in person, it'd be a different story, but for these skype interviews, you'll be fine in dressing professionally and cleanly, but no need for suit. Ya feel?Yukos wrote:How do people feel on the tie/no tie question? I was with you guys, blissfully complete for a full 2 months right up until today. Now all of a sudden under Review. Go figure...? I guess it's coming, just slowlyMr. Elshal wrote:I'm in a similar situation.
