+1 on the status update. UR, 10/23 -> 11/21. I applied ED, and I'm really hoping they're still on track for early December decisions, but given the Sandypocalypse I can't really hold it against them if it's delayed by a week or two.

Submitted early October. I first went UR on 10/23, then the date changed to 11/21.

Very excited! It looks like nearly all of their admits go out in the first week of December, too, so if I don't hear back I'll be a bit depressed... but here's to hoping!

ETA: Between NYU, Penn, and UVA decisions being likely, it looks to be a very interesting first week of December!

I applied ED but my status checker makes no mention of the ED contract. Does anyone else that applied ED have a status checker that says that you are an ED applicant?

Did you check the ED box on the app? Did you go under review before the ED deadline? If you answer yes to both of those questions, then you must be in the ED pile, because otherwise your application would have been incomplete until they got the contract.

Quick question (sorry for all the questions on all the forums) - I am South Asian (as in my parents were born in Asia and immigrated to the US). I know I am not URM. For NYU, there is no set place to upload a diversity statement unless you are a URM or have been socio-economically disadvantaged. Should I upload a diversity statement - I feel that I have a well-written one - or is it a waste of space?

I feel that if you have a compelling story, then you should tell it. Others might have a better insight into NYU specifically, though.

I uploaded a diversity statement as part of the optional additional addenda or whatever the section was, but I did not check the "underrepresented group" section. While my DS is more or less about socioeconomic upbringing, I didn't feel justified selecting that I was socioeconomically disadvantaged. I think it's wise to include that information about yourself, especially since you think it is well written.

I'm sure it will make no difference in my application, though I suppose I'll find it in a week or two (!!!).

Where are you getting this from? I ask because I looked through the applicant thread from last year and it looks like the first status change anybody mentioned was more like 3 PM. And yes, I recognize this is not an important distinction. Just wondering.

When did RD admits start hearing back in past years? If it helps, I submitted mine around 11/20...
