There is traffic to be sure, but it's not as bad as Houstonites make it out to be. It's a large city, there's traffic, but it's nowhere near as "hellish" as a place like Los Angeles. Houstonites just like to complain about traffic.
What I would consider more, especially for people with families, is the weather. It truly is hellish. Everything is violent- if there's rain there is thunder and lightning and you will lose power, if it's hot (which is over 6 months out of the year) it is the most oppressively humid and scorchingly hot heat that you can find in the US. Do you really want to live in a place where your kids can't play outside during the summer? As a twenty something I can deal but I don't think it's something that children or elderly people should be subjected to.

Dude you act like Houston is in the middle of the Rub Al Khali. Kids can play outside there, I did when I was kid.

I wonder if people who don't get scholarship mailings today aren't getting a scholarship at all.

It may be that they are doing it in order of admittance or something, so far it looks like those who got that message were accepted in Januarysarahmargie wrote:I wonder if people who don't get scholarship mailings today aren't getting a scholarship at all.

I wasn't necessarily expecting any money but admitted 1/27 and no update about a scholarship mailing today on status checker.

I was admitted 1/13 and I figured I would get at least a little money. Not sure how generous Houston is, but I received money from similarly ranked schools.
edit: And I have no letter sent yet on status checker.

Then I'm definitely wrong, what about FAFSA? Have y'all finished yours yet?

I just got an email from the assistant director of admission Pilar Mensah about an LSAT prep scholarship program...I am UR right now. Could this just be a very odd coincidence or some bulk email to LSAC registered TX residents? Anyone else get this?

I'm still UR and I just got that email too. I'm hoping it doesn't mean anything. Probably just a bulk email sent out to TX residents, like you said.

I didn't get that email so it's probably just for you. I've only had a few because I'm still a 1L, but I loved Sanders and Crump (who is a character but his tests are super straight forward). I don't really recognize any other the other professors for the other 1L classes, but I have Linzer right now and... yeah.JRSims22 wrote:Where can we see this?
