Re: Texas 2011-2012 Applicants
For those wondering if medians are going up, I think it is safe to say that they are. In the rejection letter, Dean Ingram specifically says "the overall competitiveness of our applicant pool has increased." My numbers were almost dead on fror the 2009-10 median--Lsat exact, and my GPA was slightly higher. I thought I would at least get a waitlist. Would have been nice going to school reasonably close to home.

Had to be automated, my email came at 4 am. I went complete on 11-02. No update on status checker yet.paul34 wrote:dang, sorry to all those who got rejected. And yea, I didn't realize the office was open on a saturday. Perhaps it's just an automated batch e-mail that got sent out this morning, but was set last afternoon?
Also, if you guys don't mind answering, when did you apply? Did your status checkers update with the rejection?
Anyway, not looking good for me, either. Oh well. I knew this was a possibility. Texas really loves their >=3.5 GPAs. I hope somehow I can still squeeze in, though.

Rejected
this letter destroyed my hopes of every other T14 school. My stats are 3.4/169. Applied on oct 30th. Im guessing my gpa played a heavy role. Sigh
But reading some of the older posts about UTs applicant pool increasing and how it might be more competitive for OOS makes me feel a little bit better.. Good luck to everyone else waiting on their decisions!

My God! What's with all the weekend rejections? If we're not safe on Sunday, when are we safe?

Any chance Texas bites on my "gpa would be 3.9+ but is 3.44 since one semester when I was 18 had multiple family deaths / should have withdrawn and received a 0.00"
I know in general your gpa = your gpa regardless, but just looking for some hope in what is now looking Like I'm easily rejected
lol

There is some hope for out-of-staters. Hang in there all non-Texans!

Holy fuck, those are some great numbers to get rejected from ^
Right now Texas is "kinda sorta" t14, it's my guess they're making a big push to be definite t14 (pass up Georgetown and maybe even another school or 2)

Jeez, guess I have no chance as a 171/3.53. Oh well, UT was about the 8th or 9th school on my list anyway.law2015 wrote:Rejected at Texas. 173/3.5x, OOS. Weird that I didn't even get a waitlist, oh well!

Got rejected at 4 am today. 166/3.5
^They always have a broad range of acceptances so 171/3.53 may well get you in!

Wow. A lot of these rejections are surprising. What happens if in their push to become a solid T14, they dramatically reduce class size? I can't see this not happening--with test takers decreasing. There's no way this seems sustainable.
