Out of curiosity, those of you who were contacted, did you say you wanted to stay on the waitlist through august or did you give a shorter period of time?

Just wanted to add that I got a call this morning as well. They asked when the latest date was that I would accept an offer and if it would be conditional on scholarships. They said the same thing that people have posted above--they weren't ready to make any decisions yet, just gathering more information. She did tell me that they will be cutting down the waitlist again by the end of June and hoped to make some decisions by then.

I literally freaked out when I had a missed call from Ann Arbor--I don't think I can handle waiting two more weeks to know anything. I'm trying not to get my hopes up (obviously they have contacted other people), but thinking that I might get a spot has made me much more anxious then when I knew it was extremely unlikely (although that probably still is the case).

For those of you wondering--I sent in an additional LOR but not an official LOCI besides what I wrote in e-mails in response to them.

Hi everyone. I got called also. They told me they would be making offers to about five people next week and that they were calling a handful of people to gauge their availability and interest. She said if I didn't get a call next week not to despair because they would probably let a few more people in early in July. I responded to their email about when I would accept an offer saying that I could only wait until early July. They seem to be calling pretty many people for only having five spots, though.

Looking for anyone to give me a good reason to still be hopeful after not receiving a call when it seems like >5 people received calls. I told them I would consider them until early/mid august, but I don't like that reason. And if there isn't one, I wish they would just get around to making more cuts.

Didn't you read what was carved above the waitlist door: "abandon hope, all ye who enter here?"

I'm so glad I was cut from this. Michigan was my number one choice and it doesn't look like I would have been able to make it out in August anyway. Now I somewhat have peace of mind.

My guess is that offers have not been made yet. From my contact last week it came off as though offers would be made at the end of this week or next. Also, I would expect it to coincide with a cut in the waitlist. The amount of offers made will probably be so low that it might not even pick up on TLS, but some waitlist action should.
