Re: In at NYU
Nyu is legitttt so far. To the poster who asked about clothes, most people are casual.
The only thing (and I lold when it happened - other tlsers will confirm this) was when a 2L on a student panel was fielding a question about biglaw, and he goes "if you come here and want biglaw, you will get biglaw, 100%. I legit couldn't believe he said that.
Me and Birdlaw are in a crim class right. Very laid back.

hahaha tbf penguin might be a bit too out there. needs to be something that blends into the conversation. like the guys from that one movie state troopers who would replace the word "now" with "meow".thecilent wrote:One kid goes okay so I can get a refund if I don't? Ahhh I'm so jealous that you're there right now! Quick question - have you been able to get a feel for the atmosphere there yet? Does it seem to be pretty supportive, competitive, or somewhere in between?thecilent wrote:Nyu is legitttt so far. To the poster who asked about clothes, most people are casual.

As cliche as it sounds, it does seem very laid back here and not competitive. ESP in this crime class they all just like laugh and help each other out ad what not. Re: In at NYU
i only visited for a day myself but i can at least say it was VERY hard to tell on the surface with things like this, and i dont think there's too much of a difference in competitiveness, as all the people there were obviously very intelligent and motivated individuals like at any t6/t10/twhatevermakesyounottrollmeforstoppingatacertainnumber. that said, most of the people there didnt just arbitrarily choose nyu over cls or chicago and, combined with the pi/village things, a different breed of personality is somewhat noticeable... personally, i found it a little, teensy bit more laid back and friendly than what i picked up at cls (which is kind of why i decided to ed to nyu instead). but either way, there still is a curve, and this is a perennial top 5 law school, so to say the students there aren't also extremely competitive would just not make sense.law_monkey wrote:Ahhh I'm so jealous that you're there right now! It doesn't sound like it's working though. I think it should we should notice a loose "thread" on our shirt or something. And yes I am this cheesy IRL.timmna wrote:Is penguin going to be our word for the March 31 ASW?law_monkey wrote:

Depending on the schedule I'm down for a lunch or something prior to this to avoid having to scream penguin in large crowds of fellow peers.law_monkey wrote:It doesn't sound like it's working though. I will wear the most bedraggled sweater I can find. There will be loose threads everywhere. You will recognize me.law_monkey wrote:It doesn't sound like it's working though. I read that as "Beadazzled"... which is the name of a store near my house which sells beads. It made me kind of confused.jpk5372 wrote:I initially read that as "bedazzled" and it made me really happy.
