I submitted even earlier and have not heard back yet with numbers above both 75 percentiles. Really frustrating, since I really want to attend there for personal reasons.lawschool12345 wrote:still waiting for a response, still under review

Re: Penn State 2011 Applicants
Their median LSAT score in 2005 was 156, and in 2007 it was 158. Bar passage rates are a lagging indicator of a school like PSU that's improving itself recently, which is now up to a 161 median. I sound like a troll, but only because bar passage rate is about 4 years old in the world of the admission cycle. For most schools, that's not a big deal. But to a few like PSU that have been throwing money around trying to climb the rankings, it can be a big difference. The people taking the bar last year have far worst GPA/LSAT combos than the people who'll be admitted for the Class of 2014.jayman6 wrote:I've been hearing all over that I should avoid Penn State. I've heard they have low bar passage rates in a state with five law schools and a tanking economy and terrible legal job market. Plus, they don't give out much money and full price at total cost of attendance estimates are over 170k. What has anyone else been hearing?

Re: Penn State 2011 Applicants
There is some movement with my file as of 1/03/2011. I am now under review, from being complete on 11/30/2010, and thus a decision should be made by May, as per the status checker.

Any movement in terms of scholarships?

My admission email said that a formal acceptance and notice of scholarships would be sent in January. Nothing yet...Concept wrote:Any movement in terms of scholarships?

I've been "Under Review" since 11/16 (going on eight weeks). Should I take this as a bad sign?

Or maybe they're just not going to admit anyone this year. It'ss drive their USNWR rating with 100% or the admitted students attending.northwood wrote:in the same boat. under review as of 11/16. That would be a huge gamble, since all their auto-admits would also be auto-admits at other schools.DocHawkeye wrote:Or maybe they're just not going to admit anyone this year. Just bookmarking. I think I was an autoadmit (submitted 12/9, in 12/16), but I still like to follow the threads!

I went under review on 1/3/2011 after being complete since 11/30/2010. When did you go complete, and what are your numbers?

I went complete on 11/17 and my numbers suck. They are similar to yours. I don't want to be mean or anything, so sorry heh. I am just a little bitter since I keep screwing up on the LSAT.NJcollegestudent wrote:jaydizzle wrote:At least you guys are under review. I am still complete. Damn the LSAT.

Was anyone else surprised when they received a fee wavier from Penn State? I was not expecting one, and though it was quite nice of them.

I was too. I don't think it was nice. They just want to be more selective.NJcollegestudent wrote:Was anyone else surprised when they received a fee wavier from Penn State? I was not expecting one, and though it was quite nice of them.

She just said "thank you for the address update as we will be sending out admitted students information this week."
I thought I remember seeing on LSN that scholarships were sent with the letters but I'm not sure.
