So they now moved it to April 1st? I read a few pages back that someone posted we would know by mid-march...
When is the deadline for deposit again?

Nah, I can't see them waiting that long. They know other schools would potentially have your money by then. I'd say everyone posting in this thread gets in this week, or the latest, by the end of next week.abcd wrote:They said April 1st the latest, let's hope they dont make us wait till then
By the way, I took advantage of the apartment locator service. Looks like most apartments ( for a 1 bedroom) are 950-1200/mo. You can get some several-hundred cheaper, but they are "old and nasty" So the "$13,500" that STCL said for room/board was pretty accurate.

Sure hope you're right. When I called they told me (very vaguely) that they would have decisions in by the end of March.

Are you actually quoting someone saying old and nasty? I would say that you could find many reasonable one bedroom apartments for less than 950 that are just fine. A one bedroom apartment at 750-800 bucks just requires finding good management. Yeah, it's older, but you're spending money for the next three years without making any.

Yes, that is what she said on the phone. Actually I think it was "old and musty".Mce252 wrote:txadv11 wrote:Nah, I can't see them waiting that long. Has anyone received any info on merit scholarships yet? What is the gpa/lsat range you need to get a merit scholarship? I have no idea and am hoping someone has more information. Thanks.

You will not find a nice apartment in the 750-800 range that is anywhere close to downtown. You have to go out to the beltway to find nice apartments below 900. But it all depends on what you consider nice.Mce252 wrote:txadv11 wrote:Nah, I can't see them waiting that long. They know other schools would potentially have your money by then. The center of downtown is just as far away from campus as somewhere at 610 E/W.

This still doesn't make sense.Mce252 wrote:I confused the beltway for 610.
The center of downtown is within maybe 15 minutes in traffic. It's easily 30 from 610, and twice that from the beltway?

I think he may be confusing the location of STCL and UH. That's the only explanation for his confusion here.upfish wrote:This still doesn't make sense.Mce252 wrote:I confused the beltway for 610.
