Last year they called on Friday I think. So I don't know if they would call a day or 2 early, but some people will be celebrating this weekend for sure.

I would imagine this to be the case based on the tone of Dean Deal's blog post. She doesn't seem to love making these calls (based on the stupid things people say to her ) so I doubt she'll wake up early to show the east coast love

This is a general question (aka I really doubt I'm getting a call from Stanford anytime soon), but I tend to get tongue-tied on acceptance phone calls and end up sounding like an idiot. Can anyone please tell me the proper etiquette for what I should be saying on these phone calls other than "Wow... thank you... etc.?" The Dean's blog post freaked me out

Yeah, I'm 11/15, so even if I were to get in eventually, I'd be surprised if it was in the first batch. (Getting in would be a huge miracle, however.)

Dean Deal's blog is great. The list is helpful, but I have not even thought about what to say to her, if I were to be called. What do people usually say anyway?

Not that I am expecting a call, it never hurts to get prepared.

I think this is sort of like the LSAT writing sample: if you just do what everyone else does and don't attract attention to yourself, you're fine. In this case, that means, "Wow, thanks! That's awesome! I don't have any questions for you right now, but I'll be sure to follow up with questions as I have them! And thanks again!" Answer any direct questions, and otherwise realize that you're going to be tongue-tied, so don't talk.
