Oh, I'm smart.
Considering the scores this place seems to pull down, 10% is probably pretty accurate then, both now and overall...

because past trends suggest that if you get held your chances diminish significantly.Hattori Hanzo wrote:I don't know why everybody's freaking out about this. Without having reviewed a substantial number of all the apps for the cycle yet, they're going to only take those applicants who are a lock no matter what. All other apps, they're going to hold on to until more apps come in and they get a better picture of the entire class.

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Did anyone who went under review 10/29 or later get a JR1?
(Note: Not a plea for a support group, I'm just curious - we have a long cycle to go)

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Hmm just dropping in to say that this seems like a continuance of the trend from last year:
JR seems to put a heavier focus on 3.9+ applicants early in the cycle, along with very strong URM applicants...
The rest of the applicants (like high LSAT, ~3.8 or lower GPA) seem to go through a more stretched out process, but not receiving a JR1 now does not rule out you getting one down the road.

And it seems that those who had early JR1s but no JR2s before Thanksgiving were the URM applicants. I wonder if that means all non-URMs who have had JR1s so far can expect an acceptance?Nom Sawyer wrote:Hmm just dropping in to say that this seems like a continuance of the trend from last year:

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
My guess for the URM delayed JR2s was that Harvard likes to wait and evaluate URMs together once they have a larger pool (and thus a better overall picture)...rv11 wrote:And it seems that those who had early JR1s but no JR2s before Thanksgiving were the URM applicants. However, there were still definitely non-URMs who had JR1s and didn't immediately get JR2s... I think most eventually got in but I remember a handful were waitlisted/ disappeared.

Just had the interview. I'll just reiterate what everyone has said: nothing to worry about, super chill. Happy to take more specific questions by PM.

I've seen the graphs, but does anyone know specifically when the very earliest JR2's go out?

Mine too, though given the stats on the first page, I have become less hopeful. And of course, every time this thread is updated, I keep thinking that someone got his or her JR1 e-mail and I missed out. What an anxiety-ridden process!

Yeah same. My GPA is there, but LSAT is not really. Here's hoping for an email soon!oxford_don wrote:Agreed. My LSAT is in a JR1 range but my GPA is like .02 points below the average for interviews so far. I have spent the last week regretting freshman year business calculus and that spanish class I didn't put any effort into...Calla Lily wrote:Mine too, though given the stats on the first page, I have become less hopeful. Anyone know really when JR1 emails usually come out? Like what time of the day? Evening/afternoon?

Re: Harvard 2011 Applicants
Consider this a public service announcement:
LSAT Range: 170 - 174
GPA Range: 3.90+
Cycle: 2009-10
http://harvard.lawschoolnumbers.com/app ... ,8&type=jd
Looks like greater than 50/50 chance to be admitted.
in 2008-09:
http://harvard.lawschoolnumbers.com/app ... ,8&type=jd
More than 60% chance
