If I remember correctly, it's actually pretty difficult to do. Check UTK's profile on TLS.

Still sitting in Review as of 11/1!!! I even updated my file, but no love for me

At this point, I see this as a good sign because if they really didn't want me they've had plenty of time to reject... Hey, I'm trying to look at the positives.

Read somewhere here that they plan on having decisions out by the end of March. Is this a sure thing?

Just for reference my #'s are 158 3.0 OOS

I went complete a few days before the deadline, went into review on 2/15. I'm still in review, but the date changed to today. I'm really gunning for UT due to the in-state tuition. Hopefully the status change is a good sign.

EDIT: Anyone else have a status change today? Better yet, anyone hear good news in correlation with the change?

yeah, my understanding is that you basically cannot get in state residency aside from your third year which can only be done by accepting employment with a firm within the state.

I'm going to do what I can to get off the waitlist and get admitted, but I'm going to proceed under the assumption that I'm out. I want to be realistic, and it seems that getting off the waitlist is a slim chance

I talked to the person in charge of financial aid stuff and she said that more scholarships would be given out by the middle of March. She said it will be mailed to your current address.

Good to hear. Tennessee is high on my list but hoping for at least some scholarship money.

really sorry to hear that -- just remember that wait listed isn't rejection -- you are wise to move on and make other plans, but if TN is where you really want to go and you can remain flexible, there is a reason they didn't remove you out of contention all together and a decent shot that spots will open up as deposit deadlines approach.

Thanks, I appreciate that. It was disappointing, but expected. It truly is my top choice and I am going to do what I can to get myself off the waitlist. I guess what I'm going to do is hold out as long as I possibly can and then go to my #2 if nothing opens up.

In via phone call this morning, status checker still says I'm in review as of 3/4. They said my packet got sent out yesterday. Good luck everyone else holding out hope.

Just heard this morning, I applied in October. I'm in, I'm thrilled, and now I'm going to be deciding between Tennessee and Tulane.

In by phone call yesterday morning as well. Feels great. Being an OOS splitter and getting in Tennessee means they actually liked my application. Looking forward to visiting and thanking them in person.

Now.. DU - Full Ride or UTK - sticker, don't know where I want to live by my fiancee likes the south?? DU is Denver by the way. That's probably a bad sign I had to tell you all that.

They're supposed to finish up sending out scholarships in a weeks or so, who knows, you may just get a little money.
